I suggest reinforcing the potentiometer connections with solder / epoxy if you haven’t already. Wouldn’t want you to have another fall, lol

So do the glass fibres stay under the skin and shine through it or do you have to poke them through a bit somehow? I guess the former or you’ll have an almighty nightmare on your hands.

I saw something regarding that matter. Sounds worrying. Could you link a thread where I can get some additional info?

Yes. Light shines through. I did tests with both metods. It looks 99% the same. And as you have guessed it is much much easier to not have to poke the skin. Also when fiber strands are bellow the skin light gets a tiny amount of tint passing through the skin so it blends much better.

Don’t know if there’s a thread here, sorry. But the freesk8 telegram chat + facebook has been talking about it a bit these past weeks.

Basically just check those 4 joints, reinforce them if need be, maybe add some epoxy to keep it from flying loose.

Guess I’m opening up my puck tonight.

I added a blob to the single connection as that’s the most problematic, and hotglued the other three.

I redid all 4 but was confused as to why i had to re-do the remote calibration in metr afterwards.

I thought it was because i pulled out the battery but i did it again to test and it didn’t fuck up the throttle this time.

This was good.

But this is better :muscle:

U need some fancy oil slick screw to go with that

Exactly, but unfortunately there are no way i could find some in that size in Serbia… Maybe online. To be honest I think I’ll redo the remote. Not quite liking it as I look at it more and more…

Small update for today. I have finalised a case for the LED light for those fiber strands.

Just had a quick stop at the workshop. Few things have been done.

Removed the paint from the other motor, and clear coated both of them. Before installing them I’ll redo the black cables wrap into something that will look better.

Installed the LED light to shine trough the fiber optic strands.

Connect 12V, let them shine and enjoy the view :open_mouth:

Its really hard to take pictures of it… But it looks amazing.

Also during daylight it’s clearly visible. The LED is really bright.

Tomorrow I hope I’ll finish up the battery (Balance Leads), then the rest of electronics, glass frit etc…

Almost done.
