My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

Bringing back the Bamstoke.

Remember this guy…

Well.
Not too long after I got it done the battery crapped out… So it has just been hanging on the wall.

I have been meaning to bring it back to life.

I finally got around to it.

Some things are different:
It used to have a 10s4p. But now it has a 10s3p bkb pack I got second hand. Thanks homie. @ProfoundMagician
It used to have Flipksky 6354 motors and I’m putting in my old Evolve Bamboo GT motors… 5065 150kvs I believe. Still going…
Main reason I wanted to use the Evolve motors is so I could put in their bash guard kit.

So. In summary. Can

Trucks and motors from my old Evolve Bamboo GT.
Earthwing Muirderer deck chopped down.
Psychotiller Evo enclosure chopped down.
New Evolve Bash Guard.
10s3p 30q pack from BKB.
Flipksky 4.20 Dual Plus.
Blue Caguamas running on 16/34

I started off by soldering new connectors to the motors and mounting them along with the bash guard.

The parts for the bashguard are really pretty nice…

After this it sat around for a bit because I was going to build a pack and then happenstance landed the bkb battery on my bench.

This made life a million times easier and I just needed to hook stuff up together…

I took it out last night and it performed pretty well really for what it is…

It tried to kill me a couple times with the back wheels sliding out… And I came off but was able to run it out…

Need to get used to that.

So I was hoping that with the smaller battery it would be easier to use the kick tail and it was not…

Well. The issue is that I had the trucks mounted on the outer holes on the Muirderer. I had to do that before with the 10s4p battery…

But last night I realized I could move the trucks up and I did that this morning.

It was really pretty easy… I just had to peel back the grip tape and cut a notch on the enclosure.

This made the tail 100 times more usable.

One thing that is a trip is that I decided to go off curbs.

I never did that intentionally with any of the other boards…

It is pretty fun.

But I wonder how long before something breaks and what will break first.

I also decided I need to go from 16/36 to 16/34

So I am changing that. The speed was ok on a full battery. But got lame with a bit of sag.

So hopefully that will do it.
