The amount we use seems much higher rated, I like using 10A/mm^2 and that seems to be on the very conservative end still

This video is great! What wattage/temperature is that iron? Thermal mass is probably a big part of it too but Iā€™m just curious.

Exactly how I do it too, good video

Sometimes I use helping hands to hold the wire though

thanks @skyart awesome video
need a hotter iron it seems
got a ts100 which goes to 400c and only has a tiny tip
any recommendations for a cheap good iron?

Which battery are you using?

Ts100 should be fine, get a bigger tip though if what you have isnā€™t cutting it.

think i got the biggest tip
i believe it was the c4 tip

Before I spent big on my current iron I used my Hakko which now sits at the back of the cupboard.

Theyā€™re pretty good.

This is what Iā€™ve got now.

Go to a local electronics or hardware store.

You should be able to get a beefy 80w iron with a fat tip for like Ā£10-15

Perfect for these types of connections and youā€™ll be able to do em like 10 times faster than in @Skyart video
