I believe that makes you the first person to successfully chunk one of these! Just a small chip I assume, right?
No, substantial. But I was riding at night on pretty varied terrain, not decent pave.
Got a pic?
I really wish I had noticed sooner, because maybe I could have glued that chunk back before it flew off. I will glue the section in the second photo, though. Downside of night rides.
Just sharing a thought, unsure on the risk ahead - our fellow mate helped me lathe down 97mm 98A wheels (not due to chunking but more on wheel bite) on the inner side to a nice clean chamfered edge - it was a resounding success, and for science.
He’s the best.
Hmmm, he said, mulling over the nice possibilities.
This picture makes me sad, how could you
I’m a monster.
I think you need to retire from your position. I don’t know if we can trust you anymore.
OMG first time for everything I guess.
Out of all the TB110 wheels I’ve been trying to tear up, I’ve never been able to do that except on very early prototypes which were never sold or released, before they got the formula down.
Yup, I’m going with freak occurrence, because my black 110s have 6X the miles and not a hint of chunking.
you didn’t…?!
Ouch!
Reminds me of those abec 107mm chunks on my friends evolve…
Do they really work tho?
I glued my blue cags back then the piece flew away the next day after a 2km ride
It worked on hub sleeves and my Abec 97s to a point. But it’s a bandaid on a gunshot would.
Totally true
The latest way I’ve done was to fill the chunk part with hot glue and let it cure for a day and then dremel it down to match the wheel surface
if at all there is a permanent fix, it most likely would be shoegoo…
stuff is like rubber welding, used to “replace” my worn shoesoles to continue footbraking and it held up the same as the initial sole did
Do you have a build thread on this and where did you get that front guard
Any time frame on new 74a colors I’m about to put on a order but if theirs something on the way I will wait
