Remotes you can buy in 2025

guess it needed more help than i realized.

assuming the fragility is the case holding the trigger..

This thread is “Remotes you can buy in 2025”

it’s a VX4. you can buy it. and mod it if you want a trigger.

The case needs to be a bit more rigid, probably can be printed with a harder material. The trigger also needs some coding or calibration. The trigger will engage around 5-10% of braking when it is neutral, so it has a drag brake feature built in that you can’t take out.

hmm. thanks. Interesting. I thought Sean said calibration was possible. hmm.

It’s definitely possible, I’m just too stupid (lazy) to figure out how to do it in VESC tool

If you use PPM mode on the VX4 for the throttle you could use the PPM mapping in the PPM App section to set the center pulsewidth to the trigger’s actual neutral I think - I did that for an RC mini trigger remote I have at least, and to make it max out earlier in the throw

The Maytech dual trigger is looking pretty good.

  • Waterproof w/ wireless charger
  • Dual trigger w/ larger triggers than VX3
  • Has high/low power output levels
  • Outputs on the receiver for up to 30v 3a or mosfet control.
The receiver pins can plug straight into an expansion board to split pwm to up to 4 outputs.
Telemetry options. Can use a phase or hall sensor wire for rpm measurement and battery wire for voltage rather than needing a VESC

That’s the one I currently use - it’s def better than the VX3 in pretty much all respects yeah.

Never tried the relay switch but that is cool if you have a use for it.

Feels very good in the hand, really nice trigger tension, no connection cutouts using the high power mode though no testing in high interference yet.

Downsides: The wireless charging only is a downside to me, since it really restricts the situations you can charge in. It also annoys me that the voltage settings in the OS only go up to 18s so I can’t get accurate stats on 20S.

It’s looking like the developing dual trigger over in the GB Lite thread is going to solve both my downsides with a bunch of other improvements so I’m hoping to switch to that when it releases.

Also this a separate USA-only issue but shipping is pretty costly from Maytech since our tariff disaster kicked in. They do have a duties paid option so you can be sure how much it’ll cost / no brokerage but it’s expensive.

Thanks thats interesting. Do you know what the story is with the dual trigger GB remote like is it possible to get now or possible to make one with the esp32 board and some cad?

@georgebenett is developing it currently / posting updates in this thread GB Remote Lite - Open Source VESC remote

Looks like it’s slated for possible December release.

Join the discord. He posts updates both there and on here but you can probably communicate faster through there

I did just yesterday actually and read the gb remote thread I thought maybe I missed something or wasn’t able to piece together what is possible with the esp32 module.

@rafaelinmissouri
might want to make the first post a list, and make it a wiki. that way the reference is all at the top.

I don’t know how to do that…

Hey kids.

So what is up with the GT2B?

Is the signal good?

I am trying to modify the Dumbo remote.

But this has been done for the GT2B already.

Is the signal perfect? Or are there know issues

It’s essentially the same as the puck. Fly sky made the puck

ALLEGEDLY

The GT2B mods almost look like more work than what I had to do on the Dumbo remote…
