I want to be clear the “ND” cant stop someone from making changes for themselves its distribution these works that break the license. So when I imply derivatives/adaptations im suggesting shared/for the community/forks/etc.
Right now you’re using the CC BY-NC-ND
BY: credit must be given to the creator.
NC: Only noncommercial uses of the work are permitted.
ND: No derivatives or adaptations of the work are permitted.
The first two are totally understandable and make sense as to why you’d want to have such provisions in the license, the last one (ND) is rough. Creative Commons has a CC BY-NC license which drops the No Derivatives terminology.
You could also go with CC BY-NC-SA Which is the same as the above but includes provisions that require adaptive/derivative works to be released using the same licensing structure.
I’d pick from either one of these above. I want to be very very clear I am not a lawyer. This is not legal advice just a laymen interpretation. I also want to be very clear: I appreciate that you released GB Lite in its current form, clearly (given the activity of the thread) the community does as well. So I don’t want to come off as ungrateful.
i’m not an expert and didn’t got any legal advices regarding the licenses but i’m willing to change it to allow derivatives, as long as no one is making money out of it.
Absolutely understand not wanting people ripping your project off and making money off of it. Also super happy to hear you’re open to/willing to change the license. Cheers!
If it’s going to be huge, then it has to compete with the GT2B and that’s a tough fight to win. The main advantage of every other trigger remote, is not having the GT2B form factor
Yea that remote’s pretty good. Josh might make a forum post talking about this remote soon. It’s a very solid trigger remote, and the overall guts of the remote is quite small. If anyone is well versed with modelling, one could easily 3d model a smaller remote case, GT2B mastercho style and make a good remote with it.
Hey man yea, the remote is fantastic. Ill make a more in depth post soon, but you could get it in the mean time (i can vouch for it).
In terms of connection stability and response time, its absolutely fantastic, we have quite a lot of underground cabling here in Singapore which would usually affect mini remotes, but this one hasn’t lost signal on me once. Trigger is almost instant, just the spring’s feel might be a little weak for some folks but with use you can used to it. If you want a harder trigger pull you can double stack the spring which can be sourced from the steering of the remote.
Includes throttle+ steering trim and dual rate respectively, and a pretty nice form factor i must say. It takes 4AA batts or a 2s(I think) if you solder one in. Theres also a small battery indicator up top.
Overall its really nice, just it looks like a weapon unfortunately
Oh youll probably want to do a few things(mods ish):
There are two ports on the side, one USB C as a power source input, and a headphone jack looking port( For rc sims). I disconnected the jack ribbon cable inside just in case(less points of failure i guess?) Theres also a button for channel 5 near the grip, disconnect this as if youre a right hander, your palm will press it and itll beep which might be annoying.
But even if you dont touch anything itll work jusr fine
