@rpasichnyk what is the shortest time step MetrPro/CAN can record data with 4 controllers on CAN?
About 6-7hz for 4x setups (this is what you asking), 8hz for dual setups and <10hz for single.
Metr Pro sends GET_VALUES
one by one to each VESC. At the end of the cycle it does 100ms sleep. It is possible to change 100ms value (via firmware update) but then some other unsolved issues pop up like exceeding record size limits etc.
Wouldnāt it be better to make the frequency constant? Do the polling. Say it takes X ms. Then sleep for 100-X ms (if positive; travel back in time if negative cuz consistency is important).
Thatās what DAVEGA does. (Though the time travel part is still under development. )
Perfect, thank you
Remember the unselecting and selecting the tabs on the realtime layout trick to get RT on WearOS? It works but I have to do it every time I rideā¦ any chance you could look into it? Itās not very convenient but it does work so I can see my speed and battery on my watch for now.
I replied to myself so you can see the hardware/software Iām using.
Thanks a ton!
Thanks for letting me know, I will have a look at it and try to fix!
Hey @rpasichnyk Iām having a weird issue here.
My last two rides have not registered distance (says -0.0km), and spinning motors by hand gives me feedback in the UI only with one motor and not the other.
Itās a metr can with gps paired with a unity fw23.46.
Focbox UI does show me duty cycle for both motor when I spin them by hand.
What do you need to diagnose this ? App logs, ride logs or both ?
Metr reported a ENCODER_SPI issue earlier before losing connection with the board but I canāt find it in the Fault page.
I double checked motor cables, everything seems fine and hall sensor detection works in the metr app.
Yes please, uploaded record + Settings ā Show logs to support@metr.at (if it was today, otherwise navigate to app data and find correct log file)
Iām on iPhone, any way to get yesterdayās log ?
Got the logs and sent them to you with 3 rides. Keep me updated if you can
My last ride also recorded 0km range. Consumption. 0wh/km
I cant remember if it was before or after I had updated to metr 4.12.6.
It was working fine the other day at least.
Unity with latest vesc beta fm.
@xsynatic @tk463 @Fatglottis distance and consumption are not recorded correctly with the latest app v4.12.11
Will make a fix tonight!
@rpasichnyk does GPS module must have open view to the sky or it Can be mounted inside enclosure?
Thanks.
It can be mounted inside. I have mine inside AND pointing towards electronics, works without a hitch. Outside and or pointed at the sky will always be better though.
Yesā¬ļø
Thanks. Iāve just ordered one.
Good news for Metr LTE and Metr Pro CAN owners: GPS update rate is now increased from 1Hz to 10Hz. You can see there is much more detail on the map now.
Before | After |
---|---|
If you have any of these, make sure your have latest firmware. Both Metr LTE and Metr Pro CAN with external GPS can provide 10Hz location updates:
I have been working with @janpom and he helped with converting records to NMEA format, this can now be done conveniently in the web browser:
You can then import downloaded .nmea into RaceChrono if you are into racing
It will let you see lap times, analyse your race and make video overlays (https://racechrono.com)
Havin some issues with my xenith metr ble @rpasichnyk So 1st off i cant update from the 4.32 fm to the latest on my metr. It will timeout then when i reconnect the metr will spam a bunch of fault codes as if my xenith is shitting the bed.
2nd. Whenever i do any sort of rides the gps tracking doesnt follow exactly where im at all it says just outside of my apartment complex, my phone wasnt on wifi nor battery save mode so idk wat the issue is there.
For more context on the tracking problem heres a trip i just did Nov 2, 2021 - metr.at | HjUWk
Please try to update firmware again and if it times out, send logs from Settings ā Show Logs to support@metr.at
