Where do I post bug reports for metr app?

You can post them here or support@metr.at
Log file from Metr app - Settings - Show logs is usually very helpful.

I am testing FW5.3 latest beta, motor detection in Expert does not work reliably, this upset me a bit so I am going to finally do a proper motor detection new style (like VESC Tool). Everything will happen in one go and I will try to make it even less clicks than in VESC Tool.

Anyone tested FW5.3? I got an impression that HFI is always on, even when using sensors :grimacing:

Second this. Can we add “Watts” to this display? Should just be motor amps * volts * duty cycle (80x44.3x0.5)

Couple small bugs to report:

  • when setting the homescreen notification template, if you remove some values then the string formatting fails. For example, if I remove %6 from the template, then %7 doesn’t work (reverts to showing temp). It could be good to allow users to set a template with just the fields they want to see.
  • When restoring settings from the cloud (great feature btw!) it doesn’t seem to apply to settings on the miscellaneous screen.
  • The Wh/mi tile on the realtime screen seems to only be the value for one vesc. Is there a way to show the total wh/mi from both vescs?

Thanks, I will have a look into it!

This is expected. Not all settings are backed up, only module specific ones. These are not backed up:

“system”, “enableWatch”, “canHideFooter”, “scaleUI”, “step”, “theme”, “language”, “tempUnits”, “showAllRecords”, “stageServer”, “betaMetrPro”, “ignoreBatteryOptimizations”, “developerMode”, “useLocation”, “uploadLocation”, “notifications”, “disconnectNotification”, “recordNotification”, “pauseNotification”, “inAppNotifications”, “keepScreenOn”, “automaticRecords”, “automaticPause”, “automaticUploads”, “startDelay”, “stopDelay”, “pauseDelay”, “stopOnMemoryWarning”, “analytics”, “debugLogs”, “fgNotificationTemplate”

After a quick glance it should be for all VESCs combined. But I will have a look!

Since incorporating metr into my routine and daily life I’ve noticed a few issues:

  1. I cannot seem to get “keep screen on” to work no matter what I try (OnePlus 7 Pro A11)

  2. With values on the realtime screen, it’s kind of annoying that when I make the box wider the unit doesn’t go to the side, it stays on bottom and makes the numbers smaller. I would really like it to go onto the end of the number instead of underneath if the size and shape of the box allows.

  3. “End of charge” notifications are finicky, requiring a lot of testing and adjusting using the “smooth voltages” feature and trying out a few “max voltages” and smoothing values to get it to not notify me 100 times over the last 1V of charge when I only need one notification. It would be nice to streamline this process.

Can you please sketch it real quick so that I can understand what you mean?
1 how it is now
2 how would you like it to be

Current layout regardless of box size or shape:

0.0
V

What I want if box shape allows:

0.0V

Hi Roman, I have a new data point for the wh/mi stuff I’m seeing:

The wh/mi calc is way off. Vesc Tool shows it being 29.9wh/mi.

Ah, is this because of the ‘consumption window’ setting? If consumption is calculated just for that 10 second window then I guess it makes sense. But it also makes it rather onerous to use for range calculations. I get why you have it this way, and I don’t know a better solution off hand, but it feels suboptimal as it is. What are your thoughts?

May I suggest an ‘avg consumption’ tile that is the running average of wh/mi over the trip? This would match the map wh/mi in the end.

Yes, I think this is because both “consumption” and “remaining” are calculated based on a short window of time. I will try to fit both values (average and immediate) in the single cell. Thank you for bringing this up!

I am changing template to look like this instead:

Battery: {bat};Avg: {avgCons};Trip: {trip};Avg: {avgSpd};...

@xsynatic sorry you will have to reconfigure your custom template, now there is another person using this feature!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@tech.shit it will be possible to resize like that

Yaaay I love you. Now I just need to get “keep screen on” to actually do what it says on the tin.

Relive app (relive.cc) can import .fit files, which Metr exports. However during import Relive says that some required data is missing such as timestamp.

I’d like to feature request support for .fit export that is compatible with Relive.

Thanks!
