Thanks man for sharing the dirt! I don’t see how that can be interpreted as anything but scammer behavior. IIRC the BF2018 Boas were sold as in-stock. Shortly thereafter it was “sold too many, cooking a new batch”. They presold the wheels at full price (well minus BF discount) so they had the cash to pay for it.

Reading through the last thirty or so posts is like the time I accidentally left the slider open at the cabin one night and came down the next morning to find two wolves fucking in the kitchen the next morning.

I would imagine because they did not want anyone to produce inferior wheels using their mold and damage their brand and future profit.
Probably is a different reason.

But if they pay for mold is they mold not for other.

We are forced to speculate sometimes with not enough information available to us. Jedboards/Boa tells so many stories it’s hard to know what’s real and what isn’t.

EDIT below is baseless speculation
From what you say, I would guess Boa did not pay up-front for the molds, but probably committed to some quantity-per-time-period with increased per-wheel cost, to pay for the molds over time. When they did not fulfill their agreed to quantities, Labeda takes ownership of the molds, and makes them available to other customers as a “house” mold. Something like that?
