I agree on the foam suggestion. Pipe lagging is good, I had leftover after plumbing my house that I had to jam in my Lonestar. That battery was held in double sided tape from new, and didn’t take long to fly apart and start rattling around.
I’ve also laid cling film in enclosures and emptied a tube of silicone, as a bed for the battery to compress into. It’s made the boards almost indestructible, but I don’t share these photos on the forum in fear of public ridicule.

Most Home Depot stores have a free battery recycle dropbox. You might need to break it down to fit in. Even local hardware stores will have them sometimes

How do you discharge a battery to 3.5v a cell without riding it?
If you have access to the discharge terminals, you can hook up an incandescent 120v lightbulb.
If you don’t have access, you could elevate the drive wheels, and put a rubber band around the throttle…

Not sure where to post, but can anyone help me diagnose wtf is wrong with my brand new Exway Flex v3??? Immediately it was running rough and I kept stopping every 10 minutes to remove pebbles (incredibly well lodged) from the belt grooves in the pulley. When it was running somewhat decent the PU came off the wheel pulley hub on a back wheel. Exway said it was probably kept in a dry warehouse too long and the glue came undone so they sent me 2 more wheels. I threw out the old wheels just in case both were affected. I had the board feeling great for ONE DAY before it started vibrating hard and feeling like shit. The back wheels seem to grind and vibrate when accelerating at medium or high speeds. The board is smooth at low acceleration and when it is coasting (not accelerating) at any speed. One of the new wheels has a little tear at the glue-seam on the rear PU wheel. I tried moving that wheel to the front and it ran fine for a couple minutes but still goes wonky in a different way more often than not.
I don’t know how to diagnose the problem. I’m bad at this kind of stuff. Exway is no longer being of any use. Their last recommendation is to buy cloud wheels, possibly at a discount, but I don’t know if that has anything to do with fixing the problem. I just want to enjoy my new board for more than 1 day before the season ends. I have pictures and stuff If you want to see the wheels, but I’m not sure what else there is to look for. I’ve examined and re-secured all the basics that I can tell.

Why not use 12V 20 watt halogen bulbs—for example, by connecting them in series and then hooking them up to the battery…
I use a hot water heater coil. Run it through a small volt meter screen that shows volts and amps being drawn. And at the end I got a bucket of hot water. Haha.

It’s just placing a load on the battery. In this case I’m discharging at 8.58 amps and 548w. I had charged my lipos then had an issue with the board I couldn’t fix and had to discharge to storage voltage.
Don’t mind the screen blinking I had it setup for another project.
If the board never ran right I would return it.
How do you think a linnpower ox would work for an everyday board? street wheels?
So we just set up my friend’s board with 205kv motors on an 18s battery. Running Radium 6495s on a Stormcore 2.0. He’s having cut out issues when he gets to full throttle. I thought maybe lowering Duty Cycle Limit Start from 85% to 80% and reducing motor amps from 120 to 110 would stop it but no luck.
This only happens when he’s really hammering it. Battery amps are 90a per side. Battery is 18s 6p P45B
Pretty sure some of you are running high KV with an 18s pack. Any special settings I should change to accommodate the higher KV? Other than the recent changes I just mentioned, we have identical boards only my motors are 175kv.
I’ve always done the opposite for full speed weirdness with the duty cycle current limit start.
I guess that makes sense. It thought that when you hit that limit it kind of gently reduces your power, not all at once like he’s experiencing. We’ll try raising it to 90 and see what happens. @Deodand , any advice on your end? I’ve never run motors over 175kv on 18s so this is new territory.
Sounds like the issue I experience. Is he riding it near full throttle/ top speed?
Edit: re-read your original post, he’s on full throttle. I bet we’re having the same issue.
Yeah, it can be top speed, or he said when he’s on a steep incline and flooring it. It’s always near top throttle though. I don’t have this issue at all with the same build using 175kv motors.
