Z.mote , new esk8 remote

to add my 2¢, went down hard with my single trigger twice around 2 months ago at 30mph+ and it’s still going strong. performed absolutely flawlessly this weekend in vegas and i think i might grab a dual trigger for daily riding bringing my zmote count to 3 :joy:

i have a spare trigger so i’m considering modding it and cutting a bit of the trigger off

I’m not sure what that material is, but if you use a heatgun, you may be able to modify it to your liking

i mean i have a blow dryer so that’s worth giving a shot before i go cutting things

Is it possible to have puck paired to 2 receivers simultaneously? For a 4WD setup?

I don’t think so

Just use canbus for 4wd.

Yup I am aware of that. I was just looking at more aesthetically pleasing solution :smiley:

Not sure if this has already been discussed but I thought I’d mention that I went through a bunch of exchanges with Kamen about the process for pairing a new remote to an existing receiver. One use case for this that I have a bunch of non-technical customers using z.mote with long range boards where they might go out in remote places and there could be a risk that the remote might get broken (e.g. in a fall). The idea was that you could carry a spare remote. With the old setup the only way to put the receiver into pairing mode was to get physical access to it to press the button on the PCB. That’s a real pain in some builds.

After some discussion, Kamen implemented a timeout so it goes into pairing mode after two minutes if it doesn’t get a connection. To then pair another remote you then have to go through a bunch of button presses on the remote to get it into pairing mode and pair it. It’s about four or five steps so not easy to remember so my customers have a guide I wrote up for them that they carry. I wish it was a bit easier but at least the possibility is there.

Not sure if Kamen is building that into all the receivers now but I’m guessing he is. Just another example of him responding to feedback and continuing to make these remotes better. I’ve switched to using these for all builds for myself and others. Super happy with them.

I still have a few single and double trigger remotes with MJF enclosure available at my shop. Z.mote Remotes with super-durable MFJ enclosures (tomiboiesk8.com)

Uh yeah it’s a bit more than that, it’s two entire hadeans, with one controller in one hand and one in the other haha

@Zyb or anyone?

What are the uart tx/rx for ? does this remote also act as uart remote in addition to pwm?

It can operate in either mode. If you hold down the button the receiver and boot it, it will go into pairing mode and when you double-click the button you can switch between PPM (fast-blinking) or UART (slow-blinking). I’ve never used it in UART.

This is demonstrated here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hexz_Ia2Rc, as well as the whole pairing thing I mentioned in some previous posts.
