that one doesn’t seem to mention switching to a uart mode.
fak i was just coming back to delete. 4th time was the charm. i saw it. lol.
Did we ever get to the bottom of this? Could not find any closure on this and really want to buy one.
Using the puck and cannot get used to thumb control, always preferred the trigger remotes like the mini and this looks amazing.
Unfortunately no, I still have it in a drawer. It’s the only case I’ve seen of it happening - seems like all newer ones have been running solid.
Running into some issues pairing trigger z-mote to a Stormcore 60d.
I redid the jst connected from stock to the larger jst xh-3 connector. I can get the receiver into pairing mode by holding the PCB button while powering on vesc. But I can’t get the remote to pair.
I’ve emailed Kamen but also wanted to see if anyone here could spot what I’m doing wrong. Appreciate any help.
looks like you’ve done everything correctly. receiver in ppm port and set to ppm (quick flash)
receiver set to pairing mode
enter menu settings on remote
double click right button should have a red (pairing failed) or blue (pairing successful) flash (which obviously it’s not doing.)
maybe plug the (remote) battery out and plug it back in?
Thanks for the input. I’ll try that
have you had any luck?
Unfortunately not. Still at the same spot
maybe open the remote up and try pushing the button without the plastic bit on it? if you’re not seeing the faild/success lighting maybe it’s not getting the button push.
or some other way test the button is actually working.
To echo others sentiment, I would gladly pay shipping and other expenses to get this one diagnosed by the maker.
We’re all zooming around at 35mph on planks of wood and the remote is the most critical component preventing us from flying headfirst into our grave.
Thanks for the suggestion Fess. I believe I’m able to press the button on with the plastic on. I can feel the click and I was also able to double click and toggle between PPM and UART modes while it was in pairing mode.
That’s a neat remote, tho shame there’s no screen.
that’s in the works last time i chatted with him
Any CAD pics?
Screen type?
Pls tell me some nice oled screen.
i don’t have any of that information. he was curious on what info we’d want to see on the screen.
Remote/esk8 battery level and speed is the obvious stuff.
But being able to change various settings via submenus is probably the most useful stuff, especially binding to various receivers(boards).
Other things displayed on remote screens (main/secondary screens): motor current, system current, throttle bargraph, mosfet(vesc) temp and motor temp.
My current feather remote also has got police mode where it limits erpm (max esk8 speed) in case you’re caught and they want to check max speed.
that’s pretty much what i told him. this was also a few months ago. the police thing sounds nice but i don’t think many people have run into that issue
we have lots of german friends here. if they need the feature, it’s worth it.
