I’m like the last person you’d ever want to listen but it adds so much more surface area and weight that it definitely adds more traction. I remember there being a discussion on this when psychotiller released his OG six shooters (6x2).I’m not so sure about stability because there’s 2 areas you’d need to look at. Stability and balancing of each wheel and then stability of the board overall and I don’t know the answer to that.
The best method really is to cut the hub directly in the middle. If you just widen the rim, you’d run into balancing issues
almost everyone riding pnemmies balances their wheels… not that there is anything intrinsically wrong with the wheels, but that big ass valve stem throws all the balancing off being that the hubs/wheels are so small…
widening hubs a few MMs doesn’t add any appreciable weight, and most guys using spacers install the wheel weights inside the spacer, instead of outside the hub/tire…
Spacer… It’s one big aluminum spacer that is (Lathed?) to fit the hubs then cut into to make the holes for it to fit. Stability wise I would say yes since the added grip gives you more stability since it doesn’t react to bumps as fast and when you do hit bumps at speed there is more contact patch on the ground then there was before.
