Gas anyone tried giving Kegel pins flat spots to fit mountainboard bearings in them? I wanna run the bigger bearings on my BNM1
a fall sensor built into an esk8 remote, with telemetry in the receiver to text/call an emergency contact
Fall sensor could be useful but I don’t want it calling anyone. I wonder how you would go about getting the sensor to differentiate between “I’m going fast,” and “I’m falling fast,” though. Maybe some kind of impact sensor that cuts off input? But that’s basically the same as boosted’s old “hold the trigger or the thumb wheel don’t work.”
A crash should have a relatively unique fingerprint of a moment of free fall followed by a jolt, but if MotoGP airbag vests are anything to go by, it takes machine learning to reliably turn accelerometer data into crash detection.
How about some kind of load/impact detection system on board instead of in remote? Probably makes more sense I think.
Pressure pads are a decent on/off switch, but you would always have to be standing on the right spot. Imagine running wire all the way around the deck rails to make an inductive loop that could detect a tag in your shoes
Impact detection on the deck would work sometimes, but not when you have a wipeout and just fall over
That’s why I said both. Bindings are a different story, but with lightweight pressure pads plus front end impact sensor you could detect a crash rather reliably; if the pressure pads deactivate for more than let’s say 3 seconds within let’s say 25 seconds of a front end moderate impact it’s safe to assume you fell off and your board hit something. Not perfect of course, but pretty decent.
We might be overthinking this. It would be 100% effective to put a microphone on an Arduino and have it listen for the phrase “oh shit”
Just hit record and have someone gut punch you and that’s the trigger phrase
I like it….
The capacitance proximity sensor chips can sense that foot/leg without any tags.
Forgive me if this has been suggested previously,
It’s quite possible it’s already available.
Do we have any ESC’s with a bms built in? obviously the esc would be bigger butt would be handy in my opinion to have it all in one unit and possible overall size may be smaller than having the yo separate.
And if one dies you get to replace both.
What do you find normally breaks?
My ex had a phone case that was a wallet which was pretty sweet until she lost her phone.
Some of the newer smart watches have that already.
ROCKET LEAGUE ON MOUNTAINBOARDS
Polo on MTB
Fuck it, just add mountainboards and paintball guns to every sport.
we need more hands
