charging it for 5 seconds…
K so I should leave all settings as they come out and test the board
Yes 10 char
Also with the switch sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t why could that be
Also with canbus do I have to setup the 2 vescs together or can I set them up separately and And switch uart can to true
He has a discharge BMS.
Too high regen current can trigger it and he will get a shut down.
@taz could you give me your recommended settings. Per. Vesc
12s5p 30q battery and trampa vescs
Thanks
No I will not.
Do what @Trampa said and leave the standard values as set by the wizard.
Contact @tinp123 and ask him what BMS he put in the battery and what the regen value should be. Then change ONLY that value.
K thanks
bestech d596 inside. charging current is default, 15 or 20A. I can search through old emails to confirm that.
I am not 100% sure if that charging current is limited only through charging port (C- spot on bms) or it affects discharge path too (P- on bms)
K so for regen what do you recommend?
10 per side or more?
Could be. My Bestech discharge BMS seems to not limit the regen current from the discharge pad.
I always had my hummie on -20 battery regen per vesc, also discharging through bestech d596. never had any problems, so I would say discharge path is comfortable with up to 80A charge/discharge
I use -20A per vesc with my D223.
I just didn’t know what BMS was in the battery.
With our boy Shua here it is better to play it safe…
So as i said for regen what value should I put?
And for the rest I will leave like the wizard outputs
-15A per vesc.
On second thought, leave the default values.
It’s not like you will ever hit these regen currents without flying off the board.
38/-15 amps per vesc
you want first value 40 or lower so you can’t pull too much from battery and shut it down because bms limits
Guessing you mean battery current
And for motor current leave at default values?
Yes.
yes. if you ever feel you need more power, you can up those numbers to 80A or 90A per motor. I am talking about motor currents here.
homie you got an update for us? how do those sweet sweet vesc’s ride with the right settings? @Halbj613
