variESC Tool [SRO]

My biggest gripe with HFI is not being able to know for sure that the throttle will move me. I exclusively ride in a densely packed City, I need to know that I can get the fuck out as soon as I hit the throttle not a moment later.

It’ll sound like the buzz from a high voltage transformer, except up by a few octaves

I wanted to drop the damn sensors and so just tried HFI on 2x 6384’s but the thing is so loud!

There are horses sometimes passing by, it would cause havoc…

For now I’m sticking with sensors, at least until they work…

The horses here don’t seem to mind the HFI noise at all. Dogs, on the other hand, don’t like the motor noise at all, whether HFI is on or not doesn’t seem to matter.

That’s interesting cause I do know horses also don’t like motor noise at all so perhaps hfi wouldn’t make things much horse as with your dogs.

Shouldn’t you be sleeping? :astonished:

I downloaded the latest 5.02 release for Linux. However when I unzip and try to run the application, nothing happens. I’m running Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS. Any tips?

Might need to give it permission to execute first

Figured it out. Program was excutable, but I had to reinstall libsdl2

sudo apt install libsdl2-dev

For those who are interested

hmm, wonder if distributing as an appimage would be useful.

Am I right in thinking there’s no bin for the Ubox so I can run this version?

@BigBen No, there is a .bin for uBox I was working on. It hasn’t been tested enough to put into the mainline, but if you want to give it a try, I’d love to add it.

I was hoping to support uBox but since I don’t have a uBox here yet, that was the blocker.

On Mac, attempting to scan for Bluetooth devices crashes the app for me.

hmm. this works for me. osx 10.15.7

Searching the internet for QT OSX bluetooth crashes… finds a few things with no answer. [ QT is the cross platform library vedder used to write this app. ]

Any crash logs somewhere. ( conosle.app ? )

not sure I know how to debug that one.

Seems that it didn’t ask macOS for Bluetooth permissions before attempting to connect, but manually adding it to the list of allowed apps in System Preferences fixed the issue. Guess that’s the first thing I should’ve checked

It exists and has been ported, but lacks enough testing to put in the wild. @luastoned are you able to test it? PM me if so.
