Definitely! Hopefully no issues arise, crossed fingers!
Hey did anyone sort out the issues with theirs. just letting you know this usplit is being painful as. . Honestly played with it all weekend and tried every dev port on it and even with only one device running into it.
Tried davega looses connection and freezes after 5 minutes
Tried bt module and it wont acess
Even tried my remote which is vx4 running uart and ppm and it froze.
Yellow esc light flashes fast on it constantly. Will flash green when i first turn the board on but after that goes to amber fast blink in about 30 seconds.
I am running a maker x dv6 with fw 5.3 and also tried updated fw flash on the usplit with the mossa application. Im at ends with it now honestly tried everything
I had the same issues, ended up giving up on Usplit and just using 2xUART with a pwm remote.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Hopefully I can help to sort out the issues you are facing whether that via setup or FW changes.
Since I have a DAVEga X to test with I will start debugging that issue first. Can you tell me the FW version on yours? Also, is the DAVEga freezing when connected to the uSplit on its own, or is it only when other devices are connected?
What bluetooth module are you using and what baud rate is the ESC set to?
For the ESC light flashing constantly, it should blink every time one of the blue device lights blinks. If its blinking when no devices are connected or if its blinking more frequently than the blue lights collectively, then there is an issue with the uSplit thinking it has packets from the ESC when it doesnt.
@tech.shit did we discuss the issue you were having? I was not aware of any existing compatibility issues. If not, can you describe the setup you were trying to get working?
Hi, I have a similar problem. My device only freezes occasionallyâŚtwice on my last 35km trip and once on the previous trip.
My baud rate is 15200, I havent looked at the usplit fw version yet.
I have davega and uart data to ppm remote connected to the usplit. If I connect them directly no problems
I noticed if I have my charger plugged in and try to boot the board, usplit doesnt connect or allow any connections, so my davega cant find the vescâs. As soon as I unplug the charger the davega connects and my remote displays data.
Hi mate.
I am running my davega in the latest fw 5.05rc3
And yeah it works for about 10 seconds then gets stuck frozen in whatever speed i am doing at the time. The only way to unfreeze it is to pull out the loop key for few seconds then put back in. Then it freezes again shortly after.
I have a vx4 remote that i also tried and is running uart and ppm. This also freezes and can only be restored by turning the remote off for few minutes then back on. My Bluetooth module is a maker module that came with my vesc. It doesnât work at all. However shows a red light on the bt module. The
Dev lights flash blue on the usplit but the amber esc light is flickering constantly i have tried multiple ports on the usplit and wven just one device at a time in each one of the ports. I have also tested all these again without the usplit and they work flawlessly.
I reflashed the fw on the usplit again tonight through mossa and also tried vesc fw5.2 but to no success.
I have no idea what else to try.
My guess is that you did not update the firmware properly. Try it again but be sure to follow the steps EXACTLY
I have almost the same setup, with Metr Pro, iLogger, and Davega all running through it, no issues.
Youâre not really meant to run remotes through it, fyi
If heâs using ppm for the actual signal and the usplit for the telemetry i doubt there is an issue. Also, to me it read as if he only tried it as an additional component to test
Yeah well that could also be the vx4, I couldnât get mine to work in that mode either, usplit or not
Yeah. Remote thru uart is only for the telemetry itâs actually ppm thatâs controlling it.
Glad yours is sweet spewing mine just seems faulty from the get go.
Are you 100% positive you did the firmware update correctly? Because I did mine wrong the first time and it had similar problems until I talked to matt and re-updated it properly
Well worse problems actually, the data didnât even go through properly at all
Yeah. I run it separately normally on its own uart port. The davega and maker bt was to be run thru usplit. Just testing each device separately to see if its the device causing issue.
Yeah I updated three times now checking that i done it right.
Says 417 pages and successful at the end.
@me_ashman, can you tell me what remote you are using? Iâd like to recreate the same conditions on my side and run some endurance tests.
The issues you are having while charging are very peculiar. Since the uSplit strictly operates off of regulated power from the ESC, I believe that the charger may be adding enough switching noise to the power lines of the ESC that it is getting carried over to the uSplit and corrupting the packets sent/received. This is a difficult bug to sort out without the exact same circuit and charger as you.
@Hoddz, from the statement below, it would seem that there is some kind of contamination on the uSplit that is causing cross talk between the RX and TX of the ESC port.
This has happened on two other boards in the past and that is why I test the uSplits with fully loaded ports before shipping. It is possible that a solder ball or other conductive debris that was introduced after shipping is causing this behavior. I cannot say for certain this is the cause without examining the board myself, so to expedite the process I think the best thing to do next is replace the uSplit you have with a new one and send that one back to me. I will cover shipping for both modules.
@glyphiks, you are right regarding the usage of remotes. If the throttle is being commanded through UART, then it is not recommended to run it through the uSplit. But if the remote is PPM & UART where the PPM controls the motors and the UART carried the telemetry data, then itâs all good.
I am sending a replacement as we speak ![]()
Are you sure? I can support this replacement. I dont want to take from your stock given that the faulty module will be sent back to me.
All good, get that one sent back to you and then we can sort something out ![]()
Thanks man I appreciate that! It defintely saves on shipping cost lol
Same remote and setup as Hoddz.
Flipsky Vx4 ppm+uart connection. Davega 1.2.1 5.05rc3.
Remote works fine, Iâve noticed on 2 trips both davega and remote uart data freeze. Different to Hoddz issue, his is instant mine works fine for a while then randomly freezes and a reboot fixies the connection.
I understand what you are saying regarding the charging interference and itâs not really an issue just something I noticed.
If I boot the vesc and plug the charger in afterwards the usplit is all good and boots fine.
Iâll connect to my splitter tonight and check what firmware is on it.
