Just some food for thought from the group buy hyper ion did on the other forum… One motor arrived as expected…one had an issue…and was swapped with no.issue… No issue so far… However the replacement I got had the 2mm sensor wires you mention… Which is great if you front mount and dont need anymore sensor wire than whats already installed…

However… If you rear mount.or anything else… The typical sensor extension wires which convert thr typical sensor wire plug to the 2mm the vesc needs wont work… This sucked and requires me to cut and.solder all wires off the motor the extension wire…

Once again just food for thought…

So individual shipping to USA is going to pretty much kill it. $35-45 shipping per order(from maytech to you).

I am working on ordering a larger quantity of about 50 because I think the interest is there. Shipping to me first in a big batch then out seems to be the way to go.

I want to take my time talking with them and make sure all the specs are correct and we are getting what we expect. I will keep everyone updated as always.

EDIT: well $110/$120 each Isn’t too bad really(direct from them to us)

We should take this opportunity to negotiate a better price. Not all prices are final with chinese companies in my experience. Since you have good number at your hand it’s in the interest of the community to get as low as possible.

I didn’t really think I would get this much interest in these. I thought it would barely even hit 20. This is going to be way more work/orders than originally intended. I’d rather not hold the money for 50 peoples orders for over a month. The total tied up in this will be over $4000. Not to mention the risk of someone charging back their money.

If someone wants to hop in and take over(someone trusted) and organize this and ship it out for $0 on 50+ motors I’ll pass all the info I have over and help in all ways possible.

I’ve been thinking about buying a batch(50+) of motors with my own money, and then selling them at the prices we have discussed thus far. This way I can just sell them when I actually have them in my hands. If I do this, I want to make it clear I WOULD be making money on the motors. Not a lot, but enough to make it worth my times to ship 50+ motors and front over $4,000.

I care more about this forum, and the people involved than making a few bucks so if this isn’t cool with people I’m happy to do the original 20 person group buy for ZERO like I originally intended when I posted this. But I feel like most wont have a problem with this if we can get more motors to more people motors at a similar price faster.

ANYWAY. Here’s the scoop. If I buy a big batch of motors, I think I can buy both sealed 170kv and unsealed 190kv in two separate batches. The 170KV sealed motors are ready to ship(they have 30+ ready to go). However they cost a few bucks more(about $7).

MOQ for the 170KV Sealed(enclosed)(MTO6374-170-HA-C) is 30
MOQ for the 190KV Vented(open, unsealed)(MTO6374-190-HA) is 35

If we cannot garner enough interest to hit a cheap MOQ for both motors, I will pick the most popular one. But I think we have enough interest for both. We will see.

Here are the prices I came up with. Prices listed here are landed on your doorstep in the ol’ USA.

  • 190KV Vented(open)(MTO6374-190-HA) $110 landed
  • 170KV Sealed(enclosed)(MTO6374-170-HA-C) $117 landed
  • Do the Original 20 person GB and shut up

If you buy more than 1 motors I can pack it together and save shipping money. So if you bought 2 motors its be closer $210(unsealed)/$224(sealed) ect…Expect to be able to order 170kv in a couple weeks. The 190kv will be at least 30-45 days before sale

Is this still for u.s only

It’s a lot easier for me if it is, and the savings for out of country folks make make the deal not worth it. I can add it up.

I can’t edit the poll post because it’s a poll. But In the Poll I meant 20 motor GB not 20 person GB.

Is there any chance you could make the same chart for voting on these motors but maybe two seperate ones, one for EU and other for Australia/Oceania. And if the interest is there for that region they could sort it out between those who would be able to take the responsibility of handling the motors?

TBH I would rather stay with the original idea of 20, then maybe someone else can do the rest so you don’t have to front that much money. My 2c

Anyone interested in the sealed Motors, the thread is here
(EU)

Is there much difference in torque when comparing 190kv to 170kv?

I would assume the difference would be most important on a single drive setup

I recently switched 190kv to 170kv on a single. SK3 6374. Torque went up noticeably. From “not quite enough” to “ah that’s more like it!”

Fiori, I don’t really care what motor we end up with, I’m in the first 20 so I voted to keep it at 20 as it was the cheapest option at <$100 per.

Even at cost it is close to $100 landed. I will leave the poll up this weekend and make a decision pending interest.

Zach just to be clear, because people are getting confused now with all the topics:

Are you organizing an EU only group buy?

As of this point, yes it appears to EU based. If someone would like to handle the US side of things, then it would be international. But for now. Eu

Sorry for any confusion!

Could you edit your previous post to say EU?

Hey everyone, after monitoring the poll results this weekend I’ve decided there’s really not enough interest for me to do a massive group buy, I will stick with the original 20 motor group buy.

I’ve also welcomed this little guy into our family over the weekend and probably won’t have time for that massive 50 plus motor group by organization anyway.

I will be contacting the first people that posted in the order that they posted interest with a link to a PayPal money pool so we can get this order going as soon as possible.

Edit, more puppy pics:
