TRAMPA IR Twin Main Pin Skid Plate Truck

They do work best with a steep tip angle though. 30-35°.
The trucks have a tendency to shift laterally and a low steering angle results in little turn, no matter of the bushing duro. You can easily stiffen them up and ride a bit stiffer setups in the back for increased speed handling. Personally I would not lower the steering angle.

They are bigger than the Infinities and designed to handle heavy e-boards and motor torque
We managed to keep the weight nearly the same, but the strength is improved.
So weight to strength and size is actually quite good.

Nothing “amazing” about that…

Sounds like an excuse to me :man_shrugging:

At least no surprise… We have the weight always displayed, so that you can add up to the total weight of the build.

Amazingly light

138g lighter than the rushed clonejob. Nice.

Bigger bushings, harder materials. We didn’t even bother trying stainless steel kingpins, even some hardened steel is not up to the job.

We went for durability, since a MTB can be 20KG and 130g are not a big deal. So the IRs are on the though side to take the torque load of big motors with short gearing. Lots of our customers are big lads and they want the stuff to be durable.

Your 21700 2wd spur offering is aprox 23kg with the pack in

Ours is 19kg and getting lighter and we do that by saving “not a big deal” amounts of weight everywhere.

That depends on the choice. Some customers pick the lightest stuff, some go for the heavier stuff.
We do not offer one product! You can go Hypa hubs and Phatlads on 8" light weight tires with vertigo trucks etc… You can go for a taller deck or a smaller one, more or less ply etc.

These choices make your board weigh x or y. Simple!

A board with Apex Airs + Apex Bullbars is still lighter than the same board with IR’s and its way easier to handle.

On a one to one comparison, the difference is 4kg. That’s a lot.

We could also build a belt drive and then the difference would be even greater. The fact is you designed a super heavy truck with weak kingpins that are gonna die quickly

If you think that 12.9 is weak…

We’ve done a lot of testing…

Look Trampa is working on that feverishly now that they’ve rushed these out the door.

Let’s face it: We and our team know what we do and all of us are mountainboarding since ages.
And our team is out riding plenty of miles every week. And they already test what will become available in 2 years.

How do you guys know when we started the IR project? We typically don’t show our stuff until we have it sitting on the shelf.

like the BMS?

Id guess about 2 weeks after we launched the AIR’s, but would genuinely love to know so tell us:

Did you start copying immediately after our launch?
Was it when your sponsored riders started using AIR’s in gravity competitions?
Was it when one of your employees acquired some AIRS as a competition prize we sponsored?
or did you just rush these out recently?
