Maybe try to stick on some rubber or leather with double sided tape instead
Had the board sit at work for a day and I come back to this.
Good thing I had my car to take it home. These tires must be slightly too big or something because I noticed a not perfect seal before this happened. Deflated it and was able to tuck the tire back in but will it happen again?
Likely it will. I’d check the exact inside diameter of the wheel against the hub.
Damn, are those the tires I have ya?
Yeah, that looks like a 100mm inner diameter tire. Need some fivestars, megastars, or other 9" hub.
Which tires are they? Got a link?
I think they’re the ones I gave him off of a mountain board i parted out last year.
@ducktaperules didn’t you make a 3D printed ring that would fix this?
Thought I saw something like that in the hub widening thread.
They say 200x50mm which would fit the Superstars. I’ll try keeping it centered when I re inflate it ad see how that goes.
I’ve seen 200x50 tires meant for a 4" hub.
Like this guy, for instance.

I will say that the lip of these blue plastic hubs those came off of are slightly bigger then the lip on rock stars.
Well I swapped the back tires to the new alibaba ones and they’re a better fit. Super hard though compared to the trampas and the @Skunk ones. Be interesting to see how these ones go. I had some vibration annoyances before; so perhaps this will rectify some of that.
I can’t believe how hard these rear tires are! at the same psi the front Primo’s compress pretty easy but these other ones are much more difficult to compress yet I don’t feel uncomfortable riding with them. They should last a good long while.
Been getting comfortable on it again and giving it more “umph”. My watt hour usage has gone up a few ticks because of that, even on the same terrain. If I’m really banging around then range drops to a little over 30 miles but man does it accelerate. Still happy to keep it under 30mph though! Feels a bit less vibratey though with the right size tires.
One of my bearings makes a slight chattering or clicking sound on the front left wheel. Took em out and they look fine. One is a bit gunky and the other looks like it has little grease so I’ll get some bearing fluid and clean em all up to see if that helps.
I experienced the negative effects of super loose chains yesterday. I was going pretty quick down a berm-y trail and turning slightly. I guess when I passed over the “hump” the chain came up a bit on the top of the sprocket and fell to the side enough to bind and lock the rear left wheel. Thank god it was on dirt so i slid to a reduced speed a bit before coming off. A bit sore but not bad. Time to tighten up the 'train.
Damn. Good thing it wasn’t on asphalt
both times it’s locked up, it was on dirt. I feel asphalt would not be as fun.
Damn dude, I’ve had a chain lock up on an over powered scooter and that was terrifying. I can’t imagine a full lock up while boarding.
I guess that’s the good part of crashing while offroading, glad you’re not too messed up.
I rarely stop and take photos, but here’s my board next to a bench and deck I pass by every day in a tiny forest.
Looks like a different board than the one I rode just a few months ago.
That box staying put now?
