Torqueboards TB110 Really Big wheels [Serious]

72a is noticably softer again then 74a? I need this in my life again. :sunglasses::nerd_face:

better traction is good, have you chunk them yet?

I agree with @b264’s analysis of the wheel. Definitely seems to do just fine on wet roads (still don’t recommend thane on wet surfaces)

And they are really really grippy. Also so far pretty durable, granted I don’t ride on knife like pebbles. Nonetheless it’s LA roads so for every good road you will also get a few shitty. I try to stick to good tho so I can haul ass.

Approx 875ish miles in no chunking.

EDIT: I should add the biggest difference for me from 74 -> 72 wasn’t necessarily the added softness per say. It was more just extra grippy. If that makes sense. (ie turns could be taken faster without any slipping, and The board itself felt more glued if you will, to the ground)

I haven’t been able to chunk any TB110 wheels after some early prototypes in summer 2018. That issue was sorted out though and has not returned.

I can’t decide between the black 78A and the blue 74A. The most durable wheel would be the black 78A. But then again the blue looks very soft and fun to ride on :stuck_out_tongue:

Softer seems to be a better option I’m going with that and dying it black I’ve seen good results

Or just wait a few days (or weeks, or months) until you can get either black or blue in 72A :upside_down_face:

Why do you want softer? Arent they way more fragile and have more chips?

According to testers durability is the same. Apparently the biggest difference is in grip, and everyone wants more of that

Have you seen these post? The blue are after 650km and have chips, and the black are after 1000km and still look “good”.

I have, was comparing 72A to 74A in terms of durability. To each their own, but chunking after that many kilometers is acceptable enough to me.

Oh okay! Yea need to decide what to get lmao.

I have the 78a and 74a and I NEVER ride the black ones. They are by no means bad wheels. But the extra traction with the Artic Blues means that you can take turns faster without sliding. If your top priority is longevity, get the 78a, otherwise everything about the ride is a little bit nicer with the softer wheels.

Thats nice to hear a comment of someone that used both wheels. How are the blue wheels holding up to you? Any wear on them?

All wheels can chunk, so it’s more about susceptibility than being impervious. So far, I’ve chunked every wheel I own except 78A 110s and original Boa 100s, but the latter have half the distance.

I estimate at least 500 miles on these. Until recently there were no signs of chunking and all 4 wheels showed similar wear to the first pic. After seeing the chunking that @BillGordon experienced it was less than a week before I did the damage you see in the bottom pic. I was able to put some glue in there and have gone another 75 miles since then and for now it is holding up. I was forced to ride on gravel covered pavement for a quarter mile when the wheel started to chunk.

Only some of 110mm 78A Black are available. Most likely, 78A will be discontinued as well as 74A.

110mm 72A will be the newest version both in Black and Arctic Blue.

Wait 74A will be discontinued already? So only 72A then?

Yeah, correct. 74A is sold out. Will be moving over to 72A.
