Only when it’s set above 40A motor current when I set to 70 and full throttle it jerks makes the sound and slowly goes, jerking until about 10mph then it’s fine, what should my battery output be at? Higher or lower than the motor current I have 2x packs 10s2p 40T in parallel, If I set to 35a motor current I have slow acceleration but bo sounds or jerking whatsoever
That worked guys!!! Just tested it now went to 70a no problem, holy torquey hell. Love this fudging board!!!
Each bms of urs can only do 40a max cont., so I wouldn’t go above that. As for motor current, u can have it as high as u want, as long as motor doesn’t cook itself.
Hey guys my motors are getting pretty scraped up I was wondering if I put a coat or spray paint on them would it interfere with heat dissipation?
Or sand blast them to the aluminum base so they would look a little more decent
Got a set of DD XL 60kVs. Building my first DIY and it’s been a struggle. Started off with a grinding sound before install that I was able to fix. After install on first run started getting a clicking sound. The noise also happens when I slowly spin them by hand. I checked the axle tension, reseated the motor, reseated the wheel. Weird thing is the noise doesn’t happen if I remove the wheel running just the motor. Any ideas what it could be?
Videos of the issue
loosen the wheel nut maybe 1/4 or 1/8 of a turn
it’s not that, i’ve tested all axle nut tensions to full off.

Wheel bearing dead
My motors are running nicely at the moment, 14wh/km on tb110 atm, no bad noises, pulling hard at 100 battery amps and 80amps on motor
I mitigated the Problem in my drives by not pushing the motor the whole way onto the axle but leaving just a tad of a millimetre room between the motor can and the part of the axle where the heatspreaders are located - just a tiny bit as to not make contact between axle side and motor can. I’m aware that this doesn’t make the most sense but the clicking noise is almost completely gonna and the motor isn’t moving on the axle either (which i don’t understand AT ALL).
At the beginning of january had a bad bearing on a 90kv out of the box, which heated up after a few minutes so that the motor could no longer be touched. All the tips didn’t help, so I wanted to change the bearing … when I told torqueboard that I got no answer . no idea why … when swapping I then wrecked the strator and get no answer on request for a replacement … that depressed, almost 1000 dollars bye … I just want to shred without it laying me down. can happen sometimes … hope something will happen and I’ll get a replacement
sorry to hear that fam but sounds like its time for gear drive
Torqueboards are bad at responding to expensive problems. I’ve had success getting replacement parts in the past when I purchase a bunch of new stuff too. Not the best solution, but worth a shot if you really want them back up and running.
I’m hearing quite a few bad stories about Torqueboards. How are they still in business?
No legal guarantee on newly purchased parts in murica?
Because the majority of people buying TB parts and products aren’t on the forum and don’t know about his shitty customer support and shittier products.
@wh4ck If you can get a response, you may be able to swap or return faulty products, but I wouldn’t bet on being able to return anything.
mhh … yes … the thread is not exactly easy to find … mean that with the bearing can happen they are just very sensitive, apart from the fact that it was a bit stiff, it was not immediately apparent … that it was heats up so extremely … that I scrapped the strator was my mistake … lack of support ok is diy … also have a lot to worry about … but on request of a spare part that I am still willing to pay in full also determined 300euro with customs and all costs … I find a strong piece not to answer … especially I already left over 800 dollars with him … I would never have thought blatant. that should be fun and not torment people … if he needs the coal to live he should say what he wants … also take two if that has to be the main thing they run again. a pity
I’ve been buying parts from him for the past three years. I can only speak for myself here: products have always shipped in a timely manner. Never personally had any issues- many motors, sets of trucks, mounts, connectors, wheels, ESCs, DDs, etc. When something was delayed I had responses, follow-ups, etc. I still buy from him cause I’ve never had any issues, and the stuff I get has been good for me. Bought some tires last night, shipped out today… I guess I will find out if the tires are any good or not
The only ding I can make from experience personally is that after two years of riding, my DDs heat up a bit more than they used to.
