Did the spacer work out ok? I didn’t get a chance to print one up?

Yes!!!

I have to make nicer prints…

And I will have to extend the spacer for my chain sprockets in the back.

But I do intend to run them on here.

I like the look of it wider.

I wonder how the tire will sit in relationship to the bearings now?!?

Hey!!! It’s been a while since I posted. I just moved from Denver to the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina, and I’ve just about got the new Tomiboi Sk8-lab up and running! :hamburger:
To celebrate this momentous occasion, I’m having a big ass sale. 20% off storewide all October long! :taco: Decks, enclosures, Hubba-hubs, toe-clips and remotes!!!
I’m also doing 50% off all custom deck and enclosure molds through the new year. That includes all the CAD design and CAM work, as well as the material and machining costs. :hotdog: A two-part, deck mold for hydraulic pressing would normally cost $3500 and a two-part enclosure mold for thermoforming would be $2500, BUT through the new year you can have your very own full-custom deck + enclosure kit designed for only $3000!!! :bacon: This doesn’t include any decks. The cost of the deck depends on the desired construction and finish.
Give me a shout if you’re interested. It would be fun to do some custom designs with some people from the forum :pizza:
Also, I’ll have some pics of the shop and the jackassery that is going on their soon. :doughnut:

With nicer cells we’re starting to get, big single stack enclosures really make sense, but nobody makes them now…
Kinda like what Lacroix had.

You think 12 cells wide enclosure is possible with stamped kydex?

Yes, if the deck is wide enough to accommodate it, stamped kydex should work just fine. Right now, I can make decks that are about 11.25" wide.

Question.
How many cells does the Hellhound single stack Segmented Enclosure hold?

I am definitely getting in on this sale.

You can fit 64 21700 cells in that one.

I don’t do 20% off too often. I’m gettin’ crazy over here  It’s a good time to grab some gear.

I’m going to be redoing my decks and making the enclosures wider coming up. I’m switching from vacuum pressing my decks to hydraulic pressing, so I have to redo the molds. I’ve got some crazy ideas I’d like to pull off. I want to make my molds modular so that customers can customize the deck to optimize it for their build. For instance, instead of having three different long MTB decks that are virtually the same thing with varying nose/tail angles, I’d just have one deck that you can choose different nose/tail angles for.

New decks?? Sick dude!!!

I’m curious, what benefits do you see with hydraulic pressing?

Less bounce back for one. When you unmold a deck it tries to flatten out a little. There is less of that with hydraulic pressing.
Also, it will make it easier to do extreme bends like deep drops. Right now I have to rig a clamping jig to do that with the vacuum bags. It’s kind of a pain.

Shop setup is coming along. One of the challenges is managing dust. I need to have areas that are virtually dust-free for doing epoxy and finish work. I bought a few pop-up green houses to help keep things contained. Along with some powerful dust collection tools, this should work like a charm.

I made a press using two 20-ton jack-presses from Harbor Freight along with some other Materials. All together it cost me about $750. That’s not too bad considering that I’ll need 2-3 of them.

I know you are still getting settled in, but if you ever come to visit upstate SC, my college (Clemson) has a pretty decent skate club here (check us out on Instagram if you have time; our account got hacked, so we had to start from scratch so that’s why it’s so empty). We would love to ride with you and hear about the stuff you do! There are a few people, myself included, that have DIYs, but mostly prebuilts because of the cheaper price point and easier entry into the hobby. Happy to hear there are more of the hobby in SC!

Hey! That’s great to hear. I just followed you guys on insta. I do a lot of deck swaps for people that buy premade boards. If any of your club members get tired of their factory deck and want something more primo, send them my way.

Down in Myrtle there are tons of go kart tracks. I’m hoping to rent a few of them out to do open track days as well as races. You guys will have to come get involved.
