This sounds like a lot of costly extra work that could’ve been saved by just using a different truck…?
Yes it is, but you can feel the difference when you use the original. Most brands that use a generic on the rear, often that truck’s width is not same as the front truck, it’s slightly wider to fit the larger motors. When we use the Paris in the rear, it’s the same width as front. Not to mention the level of precision & quality the Paris bushings have.
which board has different truck width setup? i don’t recall any brand does that, i’ve had multiple prebuilt and none of them have this problem u r talking about
I don’t wanna name the brand, I can if you insist however. The difference in width is minor, about 10mm.
But then all the reddit fanbois no buy them because it doesn’t say “Paris V3”
not an awful price
depending on their quality control (and how well they build it) and its reliability it has potential
But really, they’re going to have to convince me that it’s clearly superior to a $629 Ownboard belt board, and other than the VESC, I don’t see it.
Happy to be proved wrong, though.
the areas would be
the vesc
p42a cells
and then it would be about honouring warranties and showing good service times and reliability
Yep
Big difference between ownboard and this
We shall see though. My big question right now is what esc will ACTUALLY end up in the production board. The prototypes had the Flipskys
@xsynatic thanks for posting that, I was planning to.
Overall it looks great, deck feel will be a big one too.
But is that worth the extra $500 to most people? You’ve got competition from established brands like the Wowgo 3X which also comes with Paris V3 and Gates belts for nearly half the price. And prebuilt VESC implementations have been hit or miss so far.
i agree. I like the look. Looks “similar” to my DIY board. Now i wish i was a reviewer to test some stuff lol
Not genuine Paris v2 truck on the rear. Also, half the range
True, this is the last piece of the puzzle for me to say if it is “good” or not
Fronts are genuine V3s, rear isn’t but that’s got motor mounts, and the geometry is so similar I’ll give them a pass.
That’s not the point of it being genuine or not lol
As far as I know, the whole reason people care is the feel and strength
This one has a genuine Paris v3 rear with a machined motor mount. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone do that yet
That’s actually the part I’m worried about. You’re taking away material from a truck in a way it wasn’t originally designed, and that could compromise the strength. At least with a custom part you can design it to be strong enough with motors included. Not too sure about V3s, but the V2s had been known to bend occasionally.
