So any recommendation for a good remote that won’t cost me an arm and leg ?
I really love my vx4. I have large hands but skinny fingers and it feels great.
If the issues have been fixed, I’ll be curious to try it
The VX4 thread seems to be all in agreement that it’s been fixed, that info is still buried in a huge thread with the original title though
my vx4 has been good since the update, but it’s just a bit jerky. Setting my throttle deadzone really low in vesctool helped, but it seems flipsky is doing some sort of throttle processing on the remote which is really annoying.
You use it in uart right ?
Is it worst than the vx2 ?
yes
I dont think anything can be worse than the vx2
XD truth is that I used the first iteration of the vx1 and was quite happy with it
I saw the roads dry so i went for the first test ride.
Works perfect, smooth, silent, torques for days, 8wh/km average consumation.
Well, started raining out of nowhere and now I’m stuck under a bus stop x)
start hydroplaning on the water and you’ll really be esk8 jesus
Back home in one piece and the board too, it stopped raining the same way it started, and I walked back home carrying the board like I would an analog one.
Was a bit scared the cable attaches wont hold, but they did, everything seems fine.
Made me realize the board is pretty lightweight, the only scale I got is a kitchen one and won’t go over 5 kg, but I think the whole thing is under 8kg
I’m pretty happy with the few km I had before it started raining, was realy smooth, was expeting the worst out of hub motors, siper silent, and lack nor speed nor traction
Just went for a 11km ride, the battery wasn’t at 100% to start with and it’s still arround 3.65V/cell which is quite satisfactory on a 12s1p I think, didn’t expect to get that much out of it.
The hubs and rigide deck makes the ride a bit more bumpy that what I’m used to on my analog board, but it could be way worth
I’m happy overall
Only issue so far, I had the battery case got loose off it’s velcro a good 5 time when there was too much vibration and aggressive carving, I need to work something out
You mean encircling the deck and the box together ? I’m afraid the box is too small and in the wromg direction.
For now I added two strip of butyl tape between the grip tape and the enclosure on both side of the velcro, it looks like it’s not moving anymore, I’ll se in the next ride if it stays in place.
I’d trust a strap 100x more than butyl tape lol
It’s realy about vibration and the box oscilliating,
Like the velcro is strong enough so I can lift the whole board by holding the enclosure only.
I think the butyl tape will help dampening the damn thing XD
If it doesn’t work, I’ll get something more serious, or a strap or some 3D printed thing to hook it on both side, but I’m not in a hurry as the box I realy intend to use is still making its way from china.
There are other builds with this strap setup, might even have been one of rusins that I’m thinking of
Oh, also this box (and battery) is small enough so I didn’t steped or bumped on it while ridding so far
Yes, I’ve seen it, but it’s on more massive boxes, this one is only 8cm wide, I’d be afraid it slip out of the strap
