No heat sink, all the amps and 8" rubber. VESC is only getting warm to the touch.

Probably not as scientific of an answer as you were looking for, but there you go.

No surprise, Iā€™ve always been enamored by smaller profile boards that can cruise and are mostly urban than AT. In fact its my next goal to build something that fits that bill. Once I get my original two boards back together. That said Iā€™ve never been a fan of thanesā€™ so gotta look around for some smaller penusā€™ than the typical mountain board affair.

Was already going to order a Puck today to replace my vx2. Might as well start piecing together the build now  Much appreciated.

Edit: Again apologies for the slight(?) derails here. Will knock it off

Iā€™m not using heatsink, but Iā€™m also not using telemetry. Iā€™ve been hitting hills that are pretty steep for extended periods, riding around a mountain coast roads. 140kv, 2.78 Nd 105mm wheels. Havenā€™t had any indication of heat being an issue. Ambient outside these days here is like 25-30 degrees, goes as high as 38 at peak sun.

Word is there will be nylon 5" rims with kegal compatibility coming Thoonā„¢.
That opens up some GD options. ATM, the cnc ones are only belt compatible

For those wondering how I solved the motor cut out under load issue.

Entirely my fault. Apparently vesc canā€™t auto detect which hall sensors belong to which coil. I had the connectors mixed up.

Yeah, nah. I wonā€™t attempt to beat a train that goes for 120kph.

I just need to get to the station more efficiently than walking/driving/taking the bus*.

*bikes get stolen and are too big for the rush hour train.

Anyone know if I can set my dv4 to only turn on using push to start and set it to turn off after 5 min of no input

Set the shutdown mode to OFF_AFTER_5M on APP page.
Note ļ¼š
DV4 does not support switch, but on DV4s.

New issues guys and gals. When going full throttle the motors cut out / stop and donā€™t re engage until I go to 0% throttle. Video for example.

Is the shutdown mode set correctly? The left side needs to be set to Always ON

No faults being thrown?

None. That being said when the motors were stopping at 100% throttle no faults were thrown either. To check faults Iā€™ve been going to the dev tools tab-> vesc terminal then typing ā€œfaultsā€.
