The Muckraker re-build & race progress - 4WD race board - octopus deck w/stooge track pack

What are your motor amps set to?

Rear 110A per motor (50A from battery each)
Front 70A per motor (20A from battery each)

Have you tried just upping the motor amps?

Go 180 battery total… it’ll be fiiiine

He’s only got regular DV6 in rear. He definitely will once he’s swapped to the pro. And once the 12s8p p45b pack is in he’ll have unlimited battery amps to play with lol.

I’m most devasted about being booted from our spot by security last night. So weird they decided to kick us out after being there for a few hours. Then told us dont come back unless we book the carpark through the university. Ah well.

Hmm i thought the dv6 was tougher than that

I think the standard dv6 can safely hit 120A per motor but as Jeff mentioned I’ll be upgrading both battery and ESC soon so i wont bother playing around till the upgrade

My standard DV6 threw occasional ABS overcurrent faults at 100A already, although that was on my previous board. On the newer board I only tried 90A and that works reliably. I don’t think it can do 120A

Interesting. Ive been running 110A for a long time now

Added a “fixed” external usb point for programming purposes, after quite a few issues recently when trying to program with the Maker X Bluetooth receiver. Not sure what the root cause is (i suspect an app upgrade bugging out) but basically any time i tried to play with settings via the bluetooth receiver it would make 1 of 4 motors (usually a front motor) not detectable over CAN, or if it was detectable it would have the same CAN ID as one of my rear motors.

I know of a few other including @JeffyJ who have experienced the same or similar issues with the BT receiver recently.

Anyway, for the time being ill continue to program manually when required but im.wondering if anyone else knows whats going on?

#JustVESCThings sorry bro. You can always try BT through different apps like metr or FreeSk8. Some have better luck with those.

Usually disconnecting and reconnecting for me works.

Everyone just laughs at me when I go on my fuck Bluetooth rants  I think I read the trick is read settings before writing over can? I dunno, panel mount is good but it definitely would be nice to be able to adjust remote settings when you’re track side.

You can get this style too if you want it covered/sealed up

Going to have to try this. The adapter failed/wouldnt read. Back to the old cable for now

Inching my way to sub 13 sec laps and getting reclaiming that #1 spot on the T leaderboard back from @JeffyJ . Not much has changed in my approach - trying to accelerate earlier and brake later.

Indoor Track night is coming up in a little over 2 weeks. Really keen to see if I can claim the track record, but also need to allocate some time to get some much needed overtaking practice!

Also very excited to set this one up over the next couple of weeks :eyes:

Claimed the track record by 0.11🥳
We are back on the 20th so I may only hold onto this for the next 15 days because we all know how determined that bastard @JeffyJ is

As much as i love this track, Im starting to get more frustrated every time I come back due to not being able to ride as hard as I would on asphalt with BRPs. I was slipping all over the show, again!

The toeside slip wasnt as bad but still slowed me down out of that corner.

Looking forward to trying the xcell tyres next. @sugandese has highly recommended

Claimed t-race #1 spot back tonight
12.87 toeside to bring my total to 26.14

I dropped off my t race consistency in the new year so this week i decided it was time to give it a proper go again! Ive been fluffing around for the past few weeks trying out different wheels for the indoor track as well as having a few setbacks with the board from BT receiver issues.

I’ve very recently turned traction control off and while I was sceptical at first, I think it’s given me a much tighter racing line because I can drift around the corners very slightly. My fastest laps for the day were all 117m in distance.

I still feel like i can push this little 12s6p board a bit further, but all my parts for upgrades are arriving this week! New battery, new motors, new esc, new gearing, new WIIIDE BRPs. Cant wait to get cracking on it.
