Wow the official boosted boards IG account also commented. Wait don’t we have forum members in here that work at Last Mile SF?

I thought lime bought boosted, CNN and the verge even said so. I would love to see them be wrong.

maybe Lime keep all the ip but sell on the boosted brand

For those who don’t know and be confused ExwayUSA != Exway. ExwayUSA was just a reseller.

That’s right. Thanks for the reminder.

Still interesting that the official boosted account basically confirmed that something is officially happening between the former exway vendor account and the publicly dead boosted(lime).

No they didn’t. Structural capital who boosted owed money to held onto ip as collateral. They also own some of lime so he just sold the ip to lime.

Whelp. Might be a good idea to work out some relationship with https://www.eboardstuff.com or somehow provide a similar service.

It’s a long thread. Why did boosted go under?

Low profit margin and a failed scooter, pretty much.

Their boards were low profit because they did that ‘low cost shipping’ (it might have even have been free shipping) thing on top of all the RnD, and the boosted rev just couldnt compete with the cheap Chinese scooters

At least, thats what I’ve read :man_shrugging:t2:

They always seemed kind of expensive compared to diy. I thought they’d be profitable. The switch to the scooter was a surprise. I heard it was pretty amazingly powerful.

I thought maybe they went under from having so many executives or being sued for their repeated breaking axles.

I heard it was because of Chinese tax tariffs

The comments about the level of customer service and ease of fixing or replacing customers boards or parts not leaving room for profit was commendable but not every company can afford the “Genius Bar” business model.

I am very pleased Brian at Last Mile SF picked up all the boosted inventory. I have only spoken to him briefly on the phone. A couple of years back I went to his shop and test rode a boosted. I then went and bought a barely used one off CL. (I still feel guilty for that)
His shop guys are great and his business deserves your support.
Good luck Last Mile!

Few leaks on what were to be future Boosted products. Bikes, another scooter, mini version of their standard board, and a 4wd ultimate board.
