The End of Boosted?

our man in shenzen can just have a chat with the folks who made the bms for boosted. since their biggest customer for this item has bailed on them, i’d like to think they’d be amendable to do business with us.

Potentially, the few articles have mentioned they haven’t paid their suppliers if that info is even a little bit correct.

Whatever happens with the boosted brand I really don’t see them being competitive if they stick with their current product offering and at the price tiers they are at even if they go back to providing their previous reputation for stellar customer service. They’d have to have start having boosted “genius bars” or a “geek squad” with their current prices. A quick and painless way for customers to get their products serviced.

IMO Exway seems to have a high quality alternative with “good enough” customer service for the difference in price.

Good point. I used to think super 73 occupied that premium space but even their competitors retail pricing doesn’t have a big of a price gap as boosted does with their street board competitors. I imagine boosted’s version of a “super 73” would cost as much as Super 73’s latest R series or more at $2500-$3500.

Jeff doesn’t work for us. Let’s not assume we can ask him to represent us on every last thing.

Can’t find where but there was some interview where their CEO said that they spend 10 milion for R&D of their new batteries which are crap. They got money easy so they spend without real value return.

Great way to put it. The vast majority of the VC-funded companies I’ve done work for treated funding like payday money.

If lime did buy out their portfolio my guess it would be strictly to legally flex on competitors and essentially offset their own losses by effectively becoming a patent troll.

Edit:
Or use them to pad out their portfolio to be more attractive to investors/buyers.

Where can I read this?

https://www.ridefatdaddy.com/an-update-about-boosted-your-products-and-our-perspective/ @esk8jpn

for what’s it worth, bloomberg news reported the next day that lime will be laying off 50-70 folks in the san francisco office

wow, thank you!

On one hand, it sucks to hear people losing their jobs. On the other hand, fuck those annoying scooters all over the sidewalk and street.

Alright time to pay out the death pool, it’s official.
