I haven’t even finished my off-road build and I’m now looking into a street carver. Pretty sure I’ll mimic something like your build
Which Bro deck stiffness did you go for and what is your weight? How does the flex feel to you?
I’m 188cm 88kg, trying to work out which flex would be better for me.

I think if I were you I would lean towards the regular flex and not the hard flex…
I think I have the regular one, but I am not 100% sure because mine was a factory second, and I got is second hand.
I suspect it is the regular one,but no way to know for sure…
I am about the same height, but heavier at 102 kilos.
And to me the deck is super comfortable and has a little bit of give, but it is not bouncy and sketchy in any way.
last night I had my mayden voyage in 155mm tires instead of 200mm and it is still really confortable.
I just noticed a difference when hitting big cracks.

Thanks for the info. I’ve never been on one, and only “know” what I’ve read, but it sounds like you’re is the stiff flex, seeing as the medium is advised up to 75kg.
I’ll get more opinions just in case
Either way, I love what you’ve built and I want one!

It is super duper fun to ride.
I love the way the matrix II trucks turn.

So.
Mixing it up a little.
Someday I will actually complete it the build on “The Other Carver” with the Flux deck.
So I thought I would do something a bit different with the Haero and got some little tires to go on there.
They look pretty cool right.
I had the highest possible gearing going with the Kendas.
12/72
And I liked it. A bit of belt skipping here and there. But overall pretty good.
Still horrible range at 17 miles or so with really just 14 good ones…
Soooo I thought the smaller tires would do better on range even if I geared down…
So I went 15/72 with the 155s.
Which still resulted in a lower top speed.
But gearing went from 6 to 4.8…
Well.
The smaller tires felt pretty good but low and behold my range was actually worse.
Funny science shit…
I was getting 31 wh/mile on 12/72 200s
Went to 38 wh/mile on 15/72 155s
I really did not see that coming…
I actually expected it to go the other way.
So last night I changed the pulleys to 14.
Let’s see what I get out of 14/72 on the 155s
Will it be better mileage than the Kendas?
That would be great.
I like the little tires.
But I also like the Kendas. And they are cheaper…

Tried metroboard 155mm tires for the first time today; blown away with how good they feel!
I see why all the race-bois love them so much - grip is amazing and they roll smooth like irish butter.
Consumption shat the bed on the other hand, was touching 50wh/mile on the faster sections.
Pumped to 36psi. Is there a reason their pressure rating so low? Do they blow up at 50-60psi?
Wondering if higher pressure will improve my wh/mile, it’s kind of a deal breaker now.

Oh. I had almost forgotten… But I also plan on pumping them up more…
I set them to the recommended 36psi and rolling down the hill leaving my neighborhood they actually seemed slower than the Kendas that I run at 50psi.
I think I will try going up to 45.

Well.
I think I’ll probably go back to the Kendas.
Pumped the metros to 50psi.
I liked the additional torque with the 14/72 vs the 15/72 and speed was still plenty good for me.
The ride is a bit harder with the little tires.
So without getting more range I don’t think it is worth it.
Most of the ride I was at 35 wh/mile.
Ended up at 34 wh/mile…
And that is really not the direction I wanted to go with this board.
I looked back and I have had a couple rides with the Kendas that got up to 33 wh/miles.
But most are 30 31 and even some 29s…
So that is going to bug the shit out of me…

I was a bit late to that sale. Haven’t got any money in till later this month anyway.
I reckon I’ll hold out till they release the e-Bro.

Ok.
Back to the Kendas.
And new grip tape.
Later this week going to chains.

Let me know how/if the efficiency changes! Are you keeping a similar gear ratio?

I am running 12/72 for 6
And will go to
11/70 for 6.363
So a smidge of change.
Part of the reason I wanted to do chains. Up the gearing a bit.
Even pondered 11/72… But could not verify the 72 sprockets had 5 spokes.

Did a 16 miles ride on the Kendas.
Back to the 30wh/miles…
So that is good.
I pumped them up higher than before.
I think I had them around 50 and this time went around 60.
Still a much softer ride than the 155s.
But rolling down the hill by my house the Kendas rolled much better than the 155s…

Back to the 30wh/miles…
Man! I dream of getting that kind of fuel economy lol. Lowest I ever been 35wh/m N I’m only 165lbs geared up

yep. but I assuming you would hate not being able to go over 30mph…
im totally ok with it…
slow pokes represent.

Speed is terrifying, I am editing all my boards to be sub 30

yep. a long time ago I used to try to go fast.
fast for me, not for what other kids are doing.
Back in the day I hit 36 on a drop through deck, with TB 218s and Abex 107s.
I had to keep the trucks super tight for it to not be horrifying.
I just like torque and carving these days, so most of my set ups are geared really high, and can’t beat 30…
I really don’t understand how people go over 30 on these Matrix II trucks anyways…

Such an awesome grip job. Does the limited range bother you at all, or are you happy with it and the enclosure?

It bums me out…
I love the ride feel.
And it is so comfortable.
I wish I could get 20 or 25 miles out of it.
So yeah.
It is really bittersweet…
But I’m going to have a very similar drive train on the Flux motion deck.
So that will be my long range carver and the Haero the short range one…
