Idk, I trust ducttape to work better than kapton for this application, looks ugly and unprofessional but holds way better
As long as its not used as an insulation instead of fishpaper im fine with it
Duct tape is gross and a pain to remove. The correct way should be kapton tape and fiberglass tape
To be honest fiberglass tape sorta sucks to remove too. Kapton is the only one that removes easily.
I’ve been trying doing the fiberglass ontop of the kapton, works wonders
Yes. This 100%. Works great!
What’s so special about fiberglass tape? Serious question, I was thinking about trying it, but never bothered enough to actually order some
Totally agree but how often do you take a battery apart? Especially p groups
ITS SO STICKY AND STRONG. It’s like the Magnum of adhesive tapes
Nicer adhesive than duct tape, and it adds a lot of rigidity thanks to the fibers. You can get fiber tape with fibers running in two directions. That’s the good stuff.
Do you have any EU/ebay/aliexpress source for that magic tape?
I used this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AFKV0S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I did not find the exact same one from Amazon UK but this one is close
Or maybe this
And if you can’t get crossweave, the unidirectional tape is also pretty good: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B019X9CGC8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_rZQsFbCJM1ZA9
I now have a 10s6p made from 2170 model 3 batteries BUT I kinda bought 120 of them and now have 60 batteries sitting in a box(not the original one it wasn’t holding up for some reason) and do not know what I should do with them, well more like what my next project would be / should be.
if you have any suggestions to give me go for it.
You could make a 7s8p pack and get a 24v inverter to power things that need 120v AC. Lots smaller and quieter than a generator if you don’t need the endurance. 1KWh.
LG HG6’s.
picked them up a while back now, finally putting them to use.
I do agree, it has its benefits in strength and adherence. But forget it if you ever want to take the bloody things off!
I remember you getting those a long time ago haha. I have some 25R from 2018 that I’m about to assemble.
I like them a lot. Punchy, only a little bit bigger than 30q’s, and more importantly, same length (so I don’t have to route out my hummie deck)
yep two 2170 do take up most of the room oh a hummie cutout, excited to see them back on sale. soon
maybe
currently planning a Tesla 12S7P in a hummie
I think they stopped making these.
When I bought them I realized they were a strange size. Probably why there were clearing them out
