You can charge individual p groups if you take some jumpers and hook them up to a Liion charger. It’s all 4.2v

I feel silly for not thinking of that…how could I connect the positive end with a charger like this?
Im not sure i can clip to anything on there

Get some alligator clips or something, connect one positive from the charger to the positive of the p group (gonna have to get fancy and SAFE) and then one negative to the negative of the p group.

Make sure your alligator clip on the positive of the p group doesn’t touch the can of the cells because that shit will short out

Iirc, @ShutterShock might have done something similar?

I was thinking of using some, at least for the negative end. Im worried the positive end is just a nub and the clip would just pop off as soon as I put it on

I would get the black abs holders with the pins, much safer and easier to hold loose cells (and the usb singke cell charger PCBs)

Or if you already have a parallel pack you can use the multi Bay chargers and stick the whole group in

when you say a multi bay charger do you mean like this?

Yep I did, I used a magnet with a piece of nickel strip to attach the clips to the parallel pack. I already had some nickel hanging off the negative sides so I just clipped onto that.

There’s a pic of it in my SR-71 thread somewhere

Know what I’ll do just that. Thanks so much again guys

Is there a way to tell if a cell or pack has been damaged if there’s no visible damage? I had some other packs nearby that seem fine but I can’t be sure those didn’t touch either

Ya, they usually are not great but they do charge at least

If they shorted you would probably see burn marks and whatnot.

If there’s a tiny bit of black smudging from a short (only touched for a brief moment) it should be okay right?

what are the relevant voltages of said offending P-groups?

i.e. how many voltages dropped?, from what voltage to what voltage?

I rechecked each p group and all the voltages are the same. For now, at least.

This is what the cells look like (you can barely see burn marks on the cells)

This is what the nicked tabbed off this pack looks like:

Oh then you’re all good bro, it just seems like a slight singe. If you want, you can squeeze a small dab of silicon in that P-group butthole for assurance

But yea, that’s precisely we use fishpaper for essentially everything

Phew, thank god. I wasn’t entirely ready to drop $50 on another 12 cells lmao. I might shove some more hot glue in between each cell in all my packs.

In that case though, does this pack need replacing?

I know for sure I’ll need to replace my other pack, though. That shit burned

That p group in itself is totally fine. But just remember that’s more metal exposed so you should treat it as such. I normally cover that shit up in “big ol fuck you” kapton

Definitely. I was going to cover each exposed end with fish tape at the end anyway but I’ll do that now instead lol. TYSM
