10awg is all I got, it’s only like 15" long…I’ll do some tests in a minute when the glue dries. Adding some hot glue so I can hold it with one hand

7 consecutive welds and it was pretty cool still, the cells are way hotter than the electrodes
Help…? The welds are either too weak to stick or the nickel gets a hole blown through, any ideas at all?

Can you widen the tips at all? Might help to increase the surface area of the weld.
Kweld and malectrics use huge diameter electrodes comparatively.

Push harder. Blowouts are usually due to poor contact between the electrode-nickel-cell sandwich, which can be solved by pressing harder.
Blowouts on one side only are due to uneven pressure between the two contact points.
Don’t dull the electrodes too much, you need the high power density to get the proper localized heating required to melt the layers together. If anything I’d recommend sharpening.
Salvaged cells require a high expertise to weld. Mostly on negative side. They lack metal so you can easily pierce the can using the proper pulse.
Look each cell and try to weld on the parts not sanded with the usual power. Go slowly, dont rush it.
