The battery builders club

if you have the money and want one charger for the rest of your life, Get the Cycle Satiator - the 72V version can charge anything from 20-103V with nice profiles.

Yeah that’s a fancy charger, but its not a balance charger. No good for my needs

I bought it. Yeeeewwwww!

Damn! Here I am worrying about buying a Ksupply server power supply for too much.

We should have a “battery chargers club” so people has somewhere to ask about all kinds of battery chargers and charging iasues.

This badboy will eliminate the need for bms for most of my builds. Its a price worth paying in my books :ok_hand:

I was looking at trailer connectors when I wanted to make a easy external charging rig for 12S packs.

Super cheap, comes with the wires pre attached just slice it open and hope they are colored or check continuity. Seems robust and like they can take a lot of current.

What do you think about them?

I think they are friggin huge man  there are lots of available options, gx16 and gx20 are easily available. And then you have porn options like this little guy…

Will be an absolute fucking nightmare to solder, but I’m determined to use it  that’s a standard truck bolt for comparison.

Also, the individual pins only need to be rated for the balance current, not the full charging current.

Yes right I wasn’t thinking about how you need to connect the main battery leads as well haha. I mainly was interested because they look easy to work with and are so cheap. Available in the USA on ebay and stuff.

I was planning on using them with the giant Spim08hp “super” cells so size was not part of the consideration mainly avoiding anything like that pic.

I used this one on the trampa battery i did.

Smaller than a trailer plug, bigger than needing a microscope to solder

If I have 2 12s batteries at different voltages, I can safely plug them into the same charger right? They will not be wired in parallel at the output until they are both at the same charge

12s3p 30Q, 12s4p 30Q, 50.4V 8A charger

FWIW, I used these and they worked great.
The material is pretty thick and they seem pretty solid.

What current are you running through them? I think that’s what I’m worried about. The ones I’ve found state 45A but doesn’t say at what voltage. There isn’t a power rating either. I might just take the chance and try it out.

Battery is 10s4p 30q. I don’t pull anything crazy, I mainly just cruise. Usually not more than 50A on metr.

I couldn’t find a current ratings on these, but they are rated for temps up to 900F, and speced for Kilns, heaters etc.

Hopefully someone smarter here knows.

I finally finished my second pack.
10S4P 30Q.
Ended up just using 1 12awg wire for series connections.
It is in fact uglier than my first pack…
But I think the construction will hold up well.

Use a lot of good flux and quality solder paste. Makes those things stupidly easy to do. Trying to traditionally solder that shit is dum.

Can you post pics of the smallest configuration possible for the male housing?

Are these balance wires toasted?
The way your balance wires run across the nickel like that is not normally regarded as best practice.
They can short quite easily in this situation.

Well that’s very diplomatic way of putting it are you practising to become a politishion? What Happened to red pen all over this pack. So much advise above just ignored

Cutting Nicole corners
Using burlap paper
Cold solder joints
Not crossing balance wires
Connecting battery + and neg befor balance leads
Unplugging balance leads plugs

Glad to see a fuse on the charge lead tho :+1:

What you mean smallest config for male housing? The pine on the male plug are the same
