I thought people didn’t use hot glue cause it melts real easy… and packs aren’t exactly the coolest.
Just more potential for something to go wrong unnecessarily if say perhaps it all melts and gathers at the bottom of the pack… flooding connections and possibly the bms as well are creating more heat and less ventilation for the whole thing. Granted I don’t think hot glue can short circuits, it’s still a danger.
IMO, the silicone makes it sturdy enough to not move but there is still “give”.
If your entire battery is reaching 175F, you might want to reconsider. By the time hot glue gets hot enough to liquefy as you stated, it is around 300F+, your cells would’ve already vented long ago.
Idk thought it melted at lower temps… but if so then it’s no biggie

Well imo it’s like, once you weld the nickel on, that P group is stiff as a brick. Especially with 0.2mm nickel over 10mm wide. Stiffer than even hot glue.

Let’s say I made my series connections like this, how many layers of 10mm .15 nickel would I need for 60 amps?

Looks like that nickel should only be asked to carry 10-12 amps
That would be why I use hot glue and as little as possible. Trying to avoid extra weight, all that silicone will add up.

I’ve heard you don’t need to calculate based on cell max capacity. On the other hand 30amps per cell is serious business. I used some fat copper braid for my series connections on the HG6 12s5p I made
Right you will not be drawing 60 amps from each cell, 2p 60 amp battery means you are drawing 30 amps per battery cell
It’s for continuous rating. 2 layers will carry continuous 30A no problem, for peak spikes to 60A, double that number is fine. If the battery is going to hold 60A continuous, those cells will heat up a fair bit too, so total battery system cooling would be needed.
