The battery builders club

Yeah, I dunno either. Kinda hard to take good pics cause one hand

I just know these are narrower than my 2.54 plugs by a bit

The ~2.5 pics were to show outer edge to outer edge, being larger than center to center

That looks like 2.0mm PH. Wtf bestech, stick with 1 plug…

Was just going to say this. @skyart post a more clear picture of the tops of the plugs.

That’s what got me between the d140 and the eBay BMS IIRC (or just fucking with the d596)

One is PH 2.54 one is PH 2.0

I wish they were all 2.54, much less flimsy housings and easier to buy w/silicone pigtails

I think you’re safe to go with PH 2.0 dude. They only use those two, and if what you have right now is larger then ya know. I’m 95% sure it’s PH 2.0 tho.

@BillGordon I think his name is Lei‽

Bestech engineer wake up in the morning… think: what fking connector should I design with today?

“huh these are used in somewhat permanent inaccessible applications with sources of external vibration? Better not use any of JST’s locking versions”

Can you measure the pin distance? I’m fairly sure that is the EH because of the step on the sides of the connector and unless you have really small hands, looks like 2.5mm :joy:

I pin distance is 2.1 from outside of pin to outside of pin

So probbaly 2.0?

Might be 2.0 PH then. Do you have any ESC side connectors laying around? Sensor wire, PPM or anything, should all be PH size connector (can match it up for size)

Shucks, gonna check tommroow already in bed lol :laughing: I guess I should have started with that

I just checked. It’s PH2.0

@BluPenguin PH2.0 can have slightly diff housing than 2.54

I don’t know why. It’s weird. I just checked against my 2.54 BMS tho.

@skyart I gotchu homie.

@BluPenguin

Check the connector housing against this

Don’t thank me sir, thank the autism

Yeah I’m realizing now that these things are impossible to tell by a picture without any measurements lol. Just looks like a white rectangle

Has anyone tried to mount a controller on top of a bms? I am thinking of cutting a flat piece of aluminum to go in between and using the bolts of the BMS to mount the aluminum plate and suspend it above the bms so that I can mount the unity to the piece of aluminum. What do you guys think?

Eh, why not. If you have room for that. Aluminum plate should keep them thermally isolated. Just make sure no shorts.
