place some nickel on the fishpaper, than hold your solder iron on top of the nickel and look how fast it change color or if it even start burning. Should give you a good idea of how good it is.
150 for 25 = $6 a pop lol. Jeez. But 15a cont and 5000mah… good for small batteries. And wait 1000 cycles??? May not be as affordable, and take more space but probably go-to over 30qs if price isn’t a factor
Yeah the price, isn’t very good. Not what I was hoping for made in the USA cells. Still $5.5 in the 200 cell option before shipping (-10% as always). Almost competitive.
It’s is not made clear if these are harvested from salvage model 3s??? I’ve seen the teardown of the modules it is not pretty. They are used so I’m not sure where else they could be from maybe powerwall?
But it is close to cheaper than 40t, and nearly same as 30t price. And those are better for smaller packs because high amps. Since no one does 1p really, my guess for diyers 40t/30t for 2-3p packs, and 4p+ with these cells (If they are legit). I know meepo uses 40ts in the er battery in 10s2p, that amount of amps seems kinda overkill for those boards, and that is 8ah. If these were used instead, they’d be cheaper, and have 20% more range while probably supplying enough amps.
Of course after I sent the email asking I see It does clearly state “Model 3 Cells”
So I assume they were once inside a Model 3? Not just intented to be or the same cell as is used in them.
I’m not sure how safe it is to use cells that have been torn out of a model 3 module, but there has to be someone out there with knowledge about used model 3 cells.
These did in fact come from Model 3 packs(salvaged)… they’re genuine model 3 2170 cells… you will get over 4900mah out of them!
How many were you looking to purchase?!
(I asked if I could buy a spare cell to examine for any damage from removal)
