How do you plan to connect parrallel? Nickel?
@KfromtheBay I ordered that nickel from ali and I don’t think it’s legit nickel. It doesn’t rust but when welded it gives some sparks like nickel played steel and is impossible to solder to. I think it’s stainless steel or something of the sort. Paging @longhairedboy to share his experience with this weird 25mm nickel stuff😛
Damn I waited to long to decide to build a 12s6p or 12s8p for a AT build. Bought the last cells they had, enough for 12s5p thane build and 12s6p AT build. Might have to order those last couple of cells for a 12s8p.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll proceed with caution and adjust accordingly
Pelican case 1200. I’ve ordered a peli 1040 to house the controllers.
It was a gift. I mentioned that I wrecked the tip on my 75w weller, ( Ace hardware special with a chisel tip finger nail sized.)
In technical terms, this is at least 3 ‘finger nails’ wide
yup. I have a four or five pound roll of that shit and its pretty much useless unless you weld solder tabs to it.
Sounds like an ali express refund claim in the making for me
I bought 6 of these to put Relatively old 30qs from retired packs into.
If it’s a dumb idea, I’ll scavenge the 18650 framing grids and the little voltage check indicator if pcb is separate.
Any experience with this specific pack/similar operation?
how many you got?
I might be able to sneak out Friday afternoon.
I can use multiples of 10 for an ebike I’m putting together.
edit: you have 6? duh
I’m not local (Nothern CA) but I’ll totally buy them off you if the price is right. They’re what, $0.33/cell from battery hookup, case included?
looks good to me. Is it kinda thick-ish?
yeah, indeed.
Where’d you get it from?
I got it off from Ebay.
So you plan to upgrade the cells in the pack to 30q? I have bought ryobi 18v dead packs on ebay and swapped the cells out for new cells. Worked out just fine super easy. You just have to un/solder a couple balance leads and weld new nickel to the cells. I cant imagine the 40v packs being any harder. I save a ton of money on packs for my tools. Cordless tool batteries are fucking way over priced
