Are the 2 numbers at the bottom ones you missed? everything else looks fine as long as 15.38 is between 11.53 and 19.22 and 30.74 is between 26.90 and 34.59.
Ha I’m blind. It is not metal tabs, it’s folded nickle strip.
Not sure why the black wire seems to terminate not at an end P group
The two numbers at the bottom are the last two pins on the left, all numbers are in order starting from right side of BMS
Then that may be the issue. I suppose you could set up a bms so the pins are in whatever order you want, but AFAIK they are basically always in order.
Weird, I measured them and wrote them all down in order. Double checked
I am no expert and very tired but I believe they are supposed to be in order to corresponding P groups. First P group first wire etc
Yeah, that is what I’m saying. They should have all been going up by ~3.84 and they were except a couple of times they skip and then the missing numbers are at the end. It make it seem like the balance leads are out of order, but tbh idk why it would function at all if that was the case.
I am hoping that is it! Could be an easy fix if its possible to strip the balance wires. They are tiny as shit. Owner is on vacation now. Think it charged up and he rode it for a bit before cutting out
Doesnt change much but after 42.28 accidently left out the next one- 46.12 when I copied it over
While it creates a maintenance/repair nightmare for anyone who needs to do something with the BMS the cells being “out of sequence” at the connector can sometimes make it much easier to route the copper PCB traces on the circuit board.
I do not know if that is what’s going on here, only that they wouldn’t necessarily have to be in sequence. Though they most certainly should be though IMO for any BMS that has to be examined or repaired vs just immediately replaced.
Thanks.
That looks pretty bad and without being able to see the cell itself, perhaps not being able to say something definitive if I did, I would strongly recommend not using that cell.
Ok, thanks. I’ll take your advice and order some new cells. I have to clean the rest of the nickle from the other cells, which might not go well on all of them. So I’ll order a bunch more to be on the safe side.
That is extremely peculiar. I recently opened a battery with a bms that looked similar to that one (just smaller), and presenting the same cutoff problems.
Maybe the bms is just shit
This, had a pack with the same BMS and it was the reason for two falls. It’s a POS, fuck discharge BMS alltogether.
Dam, hope you were ok! I will recommend to get another BMS.
Ya looks like a solid pack. Is the bms bypassed? Should be for esk8. I’m assuming it is as whoever is doing the work seems to know their shit
Yeah just some bruises. For esk8 I’d recomment you to only use charge BMSs.
Glad your ok! Oh I read enough on hear to know bypassing is the only way!
If the owner wants it replaced would you recommend changing the main leads from the 12ga to 10ga?
