Has anyone found a good travel case/bag for a V5?

Some of the guys in the esk8 con thread were talking about a piano case. I’ll see if I can tag it.

I saw that. They’re too shallow though. V5 needs I think 8” of clearance with wheels on. I’ll have to remeasure later. Haven’t found anything that’ll fit it under like $300.

Considering snowboard bags next.

A V5 should fit in this bag. I have the extra wide wheels on the rear in this pic…

Link here but it’s in Australia. I’m sure something similar in US. Xtreme Keyboard Soft Bag 88-note large (Key19) - Australian Piano Warehouse

TSA can be really dumb sometimes. Id recommend trying to take it apart a little more. Maybe take the wheels off and leave a big piece of paper there that says “NO BATTERY PRESENT.”

Definitely ‘no battery’ sign a good idea. I’ve considered wheels off but it helps keep axles protected.

This was a test fit. I plan on packing foam around it too.

I walked into a kiteboarding shop with my v5, and they had a bag that fit it perfect. It’s somewhere in my Ankle Wreacher build thread

I’ve seen this image and really wondered if it’ll close with wheels on. Ill ask Rubium in that FB post…

Internal height is listed as 6"

Yeah thats what throws me off on if itll fit with the wheels on. Maybe he bent the tail down I dunno. Ill see what he says…

He responded. Wheels need to come off but will fit inside the case with the board.

That’s a pretty precise fit!

@MoeStooge Now you offer both SRB V5 RACEBOARD and SRB SUPERSPINE. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of the platforms, which in particular mean that SRB V5 RACEBOARD always remains for sale despite the appearance of SRB SUPERSPINE?

Also, what is left of their discrimination compared to the MEEPO MONSOON LEGACY RACEBOARD, taking into account the final price difference?

Thanks!

V-5 is a long rod board, SS is short rod.

Long rod has more leverage and control over the hanger. Less ground clearance.
V-5 has more steering angle adjustment

SS Short rod reacts quicker, steering is inside of the steering radius.

MLR entry level race board has 13 podiums over the last 4 months. Inverted short rod setup. Lateral G pushback is similar to the SS and V-5. Platform and steering would be a good candidate for pro level racing with upgraded electronics. At 16s it did qualify 3rd in the Pro class at Phonix and 16th pro class at esk8con.

will you have any demo v5’s or superspine in san fran?

My Super Spine Single will be there and anyone is welcome to try it

It’s unlikely that there will be time to demo them on the actual track, especially since you have to be a racer to even get on it, but there may be some spare space around the racetrack you could try someone’s out!

After racing is over, I’m sure Mario or Ruxx would be ok if you took a hotlap or two.
