Out of curiosity, why does it seem that I see a few people using the same OEM for these motors as opposed to Flipsky or Maytech? What are the main differences between them?
Main difference between the Reacher motors and flipsky or maytech?
Without getting too technical the motors available on my website have a design that allows easy servicing for parts that will wear out, they are designed in a way to maximize air flow and actually cool the copper coils themselves, they have magnets rated for 180c an extra thick CAN the actual motor dimensions are 6485 this added can thickness helps take hits, the Sensor PCB is placed by the phase wire exits minimizing noise induced onto the sensors wires as they do not pass through the coil.
In short
Better cooling
Better magnets
More robust outer CAN
Better sensor PCB possition
Yea, I was curious about the duffeences between Reacher and Maytech. Are the ones you sell on your website upgraded? I have heard that the stock Reachers need a bit of modification the be their best.
It seems that cooling is much better on the reachers with the large air intakes. Shame they need to be ordered far in advance and it seems that most people who bulk buy are out of stock atm
The previous version have issues. These are v5. And I believe the other folks doing sales of these are v5 as well like fullsend and radium
I still have some 151kv and 173kv in stock and they are the most current revision with all the updates, no modification needed by end user.
Ill keep an eye out for 138kv if you stock them. I think at 18s 151kv would be a bit too much for me
Why do you feel so? In what way too much?
Wouldnt the rpm get a bit high? I think it would creep over the 10k that I thought was generally accepted.
Also i already have my gear drives here so my ratio is set and 151kv would be absolutely bonkers fast for me
Yeah not sure what your gearing ratio is, I run a pair of 173kv on 20s 1:5 ratio. But I don’t often find myself at the upper limits of the rpm range
I don’t think a dislike button would be strong enough. Not liking bacon is some form of treason, I’m certain of it.
I have a set of 173kv with a gear ratio of 1:3.72 on 18s. I would need to hit 48 mph+ to hit the 10k rpm’s. Is that to high of an rpm? I thought it was erpm limit of 100k+ we needed to be concerned about.
Erpm and physical rpm of the motor are 2 dif limits we need to worry about, the bearings in my motors are recomended to not exceed 12k rpm
All in favor to duct tape him to an evolve for the rest of his life say I.
too much free time not skating while you can
Man…I havnt been on a nice ride in weeks!! lol this weekend doing a range test on an LSSS, should be good
Have fun riding for 8 hours hahah
Lol yeah I am going to get an early start
