SKP 6485 Modors…V6 preorder 🧲 (Shipped)

Yeah that worked out well…lol they were going to make you pay to ship them back? :joy:

hundreds of dollars dude! they blamed us for a mistake which was obviously theirs
the final order manifest was all correct but when we got the motors they sent the wrong shaft size, and told us we had to pay for shipping :man_facepalming:

Yeah, it’s just not easy. All this hookanny we have going on. I have actually looked into sourcing US made motors…unfortunately at the moment we would be paying 4 or 5 times as much for equivalent performance

This would be nice, wish a EU or US vendor was on the forum for a group buy or something custom.

Orders slowly coming in, just a reminder this is running through next wednsday, may extend a day or two :rocket::rocket::rocket::zap::zap::zap::zap:

Will this be the last time you’ll be offering these select KVs for the 6485s?

Possibly not last time but if you want a specific KV other than 173 or 151 you are going to have to catch me when I make my orders. That’s when I can add a few motors of random KV values.

What’s the price for 2x 205 kv? Oh and are the hall sensors serviceable?

7490 gang! If only they made 150kv lol. Oh well, 179kv is gonna scream

Hall sensors are really really glued in, will be hard to service

$340 for 2 motors

Oh that’s not a bad price for these.

If you factor in the free shipping these things are one of the best values ever

I mean it’s relative, compared to Flipsky 6384 they are pretty expensive still

Totally different ball game though, I wouldnt dare put 160 motor amps / side through a flipsky 6384/63100.

Maybe not 160 - I’ve put 110 through mine, plan to increase to 120 soon

Why would you not?

Last day! Will not be extending the preorder, there has been plenty of interest, so if you guys want these at a steal please reserve. I will likely be increasing prices about 5-10% on regularly stocked motors, these suckers are really expensive even when you buy in a large quantity

The flipskys run hot enough as is. Nowhere near enough cooling to the actual internals of the motor; so in hotter climates theyll just cook. Ive got 6384’s and i have to do cooldown laps sometimes.

Hmm I see. But is the thermal performance of the reachers proven to be better?

Consider me a doubter but I’m still not convinced that they’re worth the price. Is the thermal capacity that much larger? I would think the thermal mass is similar

Its not a thermal mass problem, its a cooling problem. The flipskys are a closed can, you can pack it with thermal mass as much as you want, but eventually it will heatsoak as theres limited cooling potential.

Reachers, and other more open style motors will actually get airflow around and into them, which should help significantly with handling sustained loads. Sure, you can probably throw the same power into a flipsky as you could into a reacher for a short burst, but for sustained hard riding, the flipskys are going to run out of headroom pretty quick.
