back on 173kv 2wd until i get new rear motors and i’ve been messing around with wheelies. it’s been pretty fun and something new to keep me entertained but i miss my awd. also gonna be borrowing an mten4 to learn euc over the winter months.
finally back on awd. now that i’m running the correct kv motors, the board feels more powerful. i’ll have to try some 0-20/30 launches again along with t-race before winter.
also changed bushings in the rear from green to white and the board turns so much easier. i love it
with that change however, i lost a lot of ground clearance. unless i can push the truck holes back farther, i don’t see myself doing much street riding on this setup.
This pic goes hard
thanks bro
Well… I didn’t expect to be writing this, especially not right now. I got rear ended with mine and someone else’s board in the trunk.
Let’s start off with the most important thing.
I’m alive. No signs of internal bleeding or spinal injury. Just some neck and back pain from the whiplash.
Idk if i’ll be doing any more racing for the rest of the season tho… so much for going to that TEF1 race this november.
if anyone needs a ticket, i can see if they’ll allow me to transfer it.
Now for the bad news. (30 Sep)
The Car
My car is totaled. Heavy body damage and the frame is also bent. So glad my rear windshield was tinted because glass would’ve flew everywhere otherwise.
The worst part is the motorist that hit me is uninsured so that’s gonna suck for my insurance rates most likely.
The Board
The truck smashed in the corner where my front tire was sitting. The board was lodged in there and I had to go into the back seat to get pull it out. From a preliminary check, my megan is totaled, my front wheel has a wobble, and trucks are bent along with some bent hardware.
1 Oct Update
They took the car this afternoon. Now to wait and see what insurance will give me for the car.
They also called to let me know they’re totaling the car which i was expecting.
2 Oct Board Inspection
opened her up today and found out the hit was hard enough to shift the battery almost 2 inches, smashing one of my charge fuses.
miraculously, i think the fire stopped in the fuse holder but after seeing that, i’m shipping the battery back to Artem so he can inspect it. just gotta drain the voltage down cause it was at full charge to go racing with friends.
also gonna retire the deck since i don’t know the structural integrity of it now. conclusion…
sidewinder is out of commission and i need a new raceboard
fortunately my bros superspine was free of damage because of how it was oriented.
Already posted pics in a couple of the groups I’m in, this is just a public update. Thank you to those who have already checked in and I appreciate this community more than I could ever express.
I’m so sorry to hear about this dude, first off; I’m very glad you’re okay. Have you done an in-depth checkup with a doctor to make sure there’s no underlying damage hiding?
I’m sorry to hear this man, I don’t race but I have to imagine this is super disappointing.
Also I’m really sorry to hear about your car, I’d be crushed to see my accord totaled.
About your board, I’m not at home right now so I can’t take inventory but I should have at least half a working 205kv reacher motor and might have a few other things. Once I get home I can PM you a list of random bits and bobs that might make it a bit easier to get sidewinder up and running again.
thanks bro, i did go to the er that night and they sent me home with some pain killers and lidocaine patches. also got some extra strength tylenol. they didn’t observe any signs of internal injuries so they decided against an mri. my insurance would’ve covered it but the doctor didn’t think it was necessary.
i was looking forward to a track day i had coming up and one more race for the season but now, the next one will just be esk8con ‘25 now
i’d appreciate that, even if i don’t use any of the parts. the motors and esc’s appear to be fine, i’ll have to replace deck, battery, trucks, wheels, and my megan. i’m in talks with the other person so hopefully that’ll go well.
I probably would want to avoid it in the ER but if you can schedule that with your primary care provider I’d recommend it, if insurance covers it there’s no way to be negatively affected by knowing what’s going on internally.
I’m gonna have to wait till tomorrow morning to go through my spares (I just got back from a concert) but I promise I haven’t forgotten, I’ll get you an itemized list tomorrow morning.
Rest up, take it easy.
little update. no lasting serious injuries although i’m gonna go get some pt still.
still waiting on insurance to give my my money but what’s new.
sidewinder has officially been dismantled and the deck was used to convert a buddys nomad build.
the new deck is on its way to skp for a battery and new esc’s, might do a motor change as well. haven’t really decided one the final details but i do want to try the duality’s on it. gotta see what’ll fit internally first. stay tuned for a new build thread too
