Show us your workshops

After popular demand and personal interest, show us where the magic happens.

This is a continuation of https://forum.esk8.news/t/show-us-your-shop-or-wherever-you-build/959
since that one is now several years old and not open to everyone.

I’ll go first

Here’s mine, or my dad’s really. I’m not sure which is more sprawling / messy between the esk8 and the workshop. It’s not much but we are moving into a bigger one soon. To get ideas for it is why I thought of this.
I do the finer stuff there, large (dis)assembly & battling to get stuff to fit on the floor and machining at someone else’s place.

My workshop is a piece of cardboard on the floor. :smirk:

Edit: And technically @Egtscs and @Pecos garage. Half the time I fix/work on my stuff there.

Same… My workshop is a blue ottoman that is tall enough for me to work on

Mr fancy pants over here with the cardboard.

I’ve had many work spaces over the years and inevitably ALWAYS end up on the floor :joy:

I’ll post one ASAP but it’s in my garage and had to have a plumber over so there’s shit everywhere. He was also way taller than me and super handsome so hopefully my wife isn’t pregnant.

All of these are a mess in these pics but whatever. If it’s not a mess it’s not being used.

My garage with and without the pretty new lights on. There’s a rolling “esk8 island” tucked under the work bench on the left side that I can roll out to work on top of etc.

In the basement side I have a bench set up where I do all my soldering and such and it’s a wreck right now because I put my blasting cabinet on it temporarily. Normally this is actually pretty organized.

And then up on my top floor we have a “bonus space” and it’s where the kids can play video games etc, and on the other side I claimed it as my makers cave. My computer/desk, printer setup and mini CNC are all up here, along with some of my guitars so I can plug in direct and play. My desk is a mess right now.

What kind of mini CNC you have?
How you deal with the noise inside living area?

Makera Carvera Air. It’s really not that loud. I have a Dewalt Stealthsonic shop vac for it too that is way quieter than a typical shop vac.

This is where we build all of our boards. Simple but comfortable with plenty of storage to satisfy my hoarding. Bench top was from an old office that was demoed. The height is perfect for standing and working, not much hunching over. The mobile cart is nice too, can roll everything out to the truck or use it as a work station by the cord reel hanging in the garage.

Here’s a quick clip. This is cutting 6061 alum with a 1/4” end mill @ 0.4mm depth of cut from about 6 ft away.

That might be too loud for my neighbours.
Only one way to find out … if I have to move
