Should I buy a Onewheel Pint?

Dang, now you’re making me want one, too.
Even though my XR has a new and improved battery, I recon this GT would be even more ridiculous on my traily trails.

come on @Adam0311
tell me more about GT adventures.

The PX came on vacation to Arkansas with us.
I tooled around on some flat trails.
The PX is a fun toy for me on pavement.
But to me it seems so underpowered when I ride off road…

need to get me that gt.

been having some fun with it though…

That trail looks fun. I still have the stock tire on my PX, so it’s not the easiest to ride off-road.

I got about 30 miles on the GT now and did take it off-road this weekend. To me, it’s a beast.

The combination of concave foot pads and extra power make the board feel more nimble off-road, in spite of the added weight. I did eat shit pretty hard riding too fast while off balance going through a rocky section. Board rolled out under my feet, feet flew up in the air, bam! Land hard on my back in rocks (falling hurts at 46 years old). All good though. Definitely would not have been going so fast on my XR. The GT is just more confidence inspiring…even after my fall.

The thing I appreciate most about the GT is the lack of worry. Yes, it will nose dive, but it’s far less likely to nose dive than my XR or PX. And you feel the power difference when riding. I have to really push it up a hill to feel any surging at all. The other boards surge on nearly every steep hill.

Without trying, I’ve hit a new top speed of 20mph. That was me slowing down when I felt pushback. I doubt I’ll ever go faster. I now easily keep up with my wife on her ebike.

So my advice, convince the wife, you need to get a GT for safety reasons. Or explain that your PX was an investment in your long term mental health, but the GT is an investment in both long term mental health and long term physical health.

this is good stuff.
I am reading this only a short half hour after my first attempt at asking.

it was pretty rough.
this might prove to be hard.
she didn’t pack the kids in the van and leave though so there is always hope.

:joy:. Yeah, you gotta wear their resistance down over time.

Just tell her you will sell a board or two to make up for it, therefore there’s technically not another vehicle, just a new one

@Adam0311
dude.
I have not heard GT adventures in days.

tell me more.
tell me more.

I have yet to ask again…
waiting for the right vibe …

Just been riding :sunglasses:. About 50 miles on GT now. I love the GT from a riding standpoint. The tire is definitely stiff, but I really like the shape, so it’s a decent trade off. Honestly, the only real bummer on the GT for me is how FM locked the board down. Which long term is a big deal.

I really don’t care to ride the PX anymore, which is a shame cause it’s a great board, but just a little less great than the XR and GT. I might feel different with the Hoosier d20, but I’m holding off on installing it since I’m likely putting it up for sale. I also harbor a slight grudge against the PX since my last nose dive…even though I was drunk, riding up hill, with 20% battery.

Hey! Does the Pint X have better hill climb capability than the XR in your opinion? If I am moving to a hilly area and currently have an XR, would it be worth trading it for a Pint X? TIA!

Edit: And how does Pint X compare to the GT and XR when it comes to hill climbing?

GT is by far the best. I’m 210lbs and I live in a moderately hilly area. GT will go straight up most the hills in my area (which tend to be somewhat steep, but not very long). PX is also noticeably better up hills than an XR. There some hills that my XR barely get up, even with me traversing across the lane, the same hill on the PX feels much safer.

Epic 26 mile ride on the GT yesterday. Weather was gorgeous, about 90 at the beach, which is rare in April. Rode from Redondo Beach to Marina del Rey then back to Redondo. GT was champ…8% battery when I got home. The last 3/4 mile to my house is mostly up hill, but the GT powered up starting with about 12% and again had 8% when I got home. Thought about circling my block until it ran totally dry, but my legs and feet were ready for a break. The GT is definitely more comfortable than my XR and far more comfortable than the PX. The concave front pad really does make a difference.

that is incredible dude.

sounds awesome.

Besides the danger of my wife leaving me, I currently have a concern with my front knee.

I really feel it if I ride the pint for like 3 miles.
and 6 miles is down right not pleasant.

I can do 20+ miles on my Flux build and it doesn’t really bother me…

I am doing some physical therapy type stuff…

I wonder if the larger platform on the GT would allow for better positioning and may be easier on my knee.

I am just gonna tell myself that is the case.

by the way.
It was 30 and snowing yesterday and it is sunny and it’s gonna get to 65 today…

:joy: Yeah, I don’t miss the weather in MO.

I honestly do think the GT would be easier on your knee. My front knee would occasionally hurt on the PX if my foot was turned too much towards the front of the board. Have you tried shifting your stance so you’re standing more perpendicularly to the board?

I seem to keep my front foot at about 45 degrees on the front pad.

Adam, I’m close to finishing up my DIY GT, we should ride some time :grimacing: 20s2p XR frame with concave footpads front and back…

If your board is ready, I’m thinking of doing this same ride next weekend

I bet that’s the issue. Try closer to 90 degrees. Made a difference for me.
