This is why you never measure from the end of the measuring tape, always measure from the 1 inch or 2 inch mark and subtract the difference lol

Looks like someone ā€œfixedā€ the top one maybe it broke or something and they pulled a stupid and just reattached it to the end

never borrow a tool that you don’t know the calibration…

I know I’m anal but I have some great tape measure tools… they are numbered… and in my fab notes I quote which tape… yeah I use the same one for each fab-entry… was used on a job…

ifwhen i have to make another one… I make a cut and then verify measurements…

and NO I make metal shit not w00d shit and peeps pay me for it. and I eat fab-mistakes and material loss…

What the fuck, is that some kind of gag gift you slip into your carpenter friend’s toolbox when they aren’t looking?

What deck is that? Looks like the ones eboardsolutions sold or sells? The enclosure looks the same but didn’t know the bottom was stained this way. Reminds me of those maya decks but looks wider tho.

Yes it’s the eboardsolution one. Comes like that

Hahaha what a pain in the ass tho

I’m digging all the stainless touches. Stainless battery cover maybe? Or do you prefer your battery pack nude?

It would be a good idea to cover up the LIPO brick when I use it. I like to imagine some diamond plate panels around it but realistically I already blind myself on the foot pedals when looking down lol.

I don’t use them a lot anyways. Figured I’d charge and drain them to storage instead of letting them sit at 4 volts for another 4 months.

I am surprise how clean the cut looks, considering a rock did this.
It looks like the inside of shaft is porous is it normal for this kind of metal to be like this? Any thoughts @kook

I could only see a portion of the grain structure from the pik, but I can definitely see the original failure point… the grain looks OK, my guess not being familiar with the motor, is that there is a stress riser right at the shaft step down… a fillet or chamfer there instead of a sharp edge would be better… looks like a clean shear…

but I’m not a metallurgist I just pretend to be one on the internets
