Raptor owners scavenge grounds

Screws unscrewing themselves from minute 1 is not just a simple aspect that i disliked about the board, and I tried to contact the douchebag before cashback but they never answered. What the hell do you expect us to do then? This guy doesn’t stop drilling himself further into the pit of shame.

SOLD

Hi i live in switzerland and bought a raptor 2.1 a few days before they announced bankruptcy.

Could not find rear wheels for my skate and I came across your project.

I have filled out your form to order 2x 90mm set.

Is your project progressing? I am really happy to come across this forum with a solution to my problem … I already saw myself with a raptor 2.1 without wheels.

Sorry for the google translation.

Sorry for the late reply but I’m still waiting for the mold. I have made the inner cores. Just needing more silicone to cast molds.

I have not dealt with international shipping before so let me do some homework on the process. As for the outwheels the person I was talking to locally here in my area ran into a problem with the 4th print. So I’m redoing the cad design.

Had to use some savings to get a printer got the mold printed and casted in silicone right now I’m making a outer mold enclosure to cast the wheels. This will take me a week or 2 but I got progress through. Once the enclosure if made then ill be able to start on wheels.

right now I’m getting the nut spacers and bolts printed out to reinforce the enclosure for that casted silicone.

Ok so my first pour is done had to do some trimming. Wasn’t expecting heat to be an issue when almost at the last drops the rubber thickened up to quick. The second pour was better a bit messy but smooth at the bottom as how its a new pour. This first set will be sent out as soon as I can and until the outwheel cures 24hrs how does it look guys. So where the cut was i need to find a way to smooth it out maybe wet sanding height wise its 76mm 4mm short from original size. Now as for the send wheel its being cured before demolding to completely harden. Same as the first pour.

If anyone that lives in the area or has a lathe the polishing would work out for an accurate size. I do not own a lathe yet so I cannot give it that clean glossy smooth finish but what comes out from the mold could be a grippy finish if thats alright.

Looking good for a first attempt. But how is the hard plastic mounted to the PU ? and do you have it on both sides?

Hard to say. Would like to see it go on the motor and max rpms to look for deformation.

That lip will be epoxied into place i have an industrial epoxy that my brother inlaw used and had alot left over from his old work at Gulfstream aerospace. Toughest epoxy than the 5ton epoxy I got at homedepot. So that plastic will be cemetery bound to the PU. The back side will be for the insert of the enertion hubs.

@Calnick0 let me upload a video here im gonna try to time-lapse it on this next PU its time to demold it.

I have a feeling the forces applied will break that bond immediately. I made a quick sketch from something I think could work.

Just trying to give constructive feedback, appreciate all the effort.

I’ve thought about that too what I’ve came up when I bought a used outwheel i tore the whole thing apart. What I realized is that the PU and the Lip or cap that screws onto the motor is 2 separate piece. Ive done some digging around apparently the outwheel is casted by itself and the cap is made separately through Polyacid injection molding. This is how the idea sparked in my mind why not replicate the process. I know that at high speeds something is bound to happen thats when I decided to add 2 mm to the cap design where there’s a notch in the Mold will alow the Resin to sit and seal the pieces together. In the mold I’ve made a extra notch or a ring that wil have a thin bead of resin to sit in while the lip bonds to the PU.
