Definitely can pay for shipping, im actually getting a used focbox to test the 6 raptor motors I have fix some of the shit wrong with them.
For reference, the last poll had recorded interest for buying about 250 pieces, back in February (before the whole Jeff shitstorm kicked off).
Also in a moment of weakness, leaving the ethical qualms aside, I asked the Jason parts shop and they said they’d want advance orders of at least 500 pieces -or $7K- to produce an other batch. So you seem to be the only glimmer of hope @xnxanatorx
No problem nske. Its that eventually I’ll run out of replacement wheel sleeves so I should start prepping or to say. How I will make the wheels is by my freetime when I get home from work. As for how many wheels I can make will depend on the casting how much I will be able to make. Theres no minimum amount of wheels has to be ordered its just when i have the time to make the wheels and ship the sets out. I just want to contribute as much as possible. I know there won’t be any wheels out there so why the hell not you know. People with the Enertion raptor like me will eventually need more wheels. This is my only means of transportation is by my 2.0.
I had sold my 2.1 just before they went bust.
The lad had it for about 8 weeks it broke I felt bad so I picked it up at the same time my boss gave me big project so the raptor stayed in the box till a few weeks ago (picked it up Nov 19)
When I looked at it (charger blown, Unity dead,
Sent the unitly to Canada (I’m surprised the King of Canada does this kind of work)
So the short came from this
Update on the wheel mold, My vacuum chamber broke by accident while i was renovating my workspace. New one is coming in soon and the casting PU resin will be here by the 15th. After I was revising the mold STL file to have it CNC Milled, i forgot to add in relief sections on the hexagons if the are casted, it will be impossible to pull the molds off the wheels. so basically now i have to start the design over but it wont take long to make a new design. I’ve been hamming myself pretty hard getting everything on time. So here is what I’ll do. There will be a google spreadsheet first come first serve basis. I will set a time frame of 2 week batches. and going from the spreadsheet in order. during the 2 weeks ill make as much wheels as I can, or until I run out of the 80A PU resin then they will be shipped out within 3 days. by then whoever is on the list in order Ill email you a invoice, for a full set of front and motor wheels I might start at 75USD a Full set. Ill make a 94mm Front and Rear. When I have more time, I’ll make a All Terrain wheel later on.
So… I sit with… a metric shitton of Enertion Parts (most are working or better than working - have had aftermarket work done)
I know i’ll never run out of sleeves as the Labela Sleeves last 1000’s of Km
the China Sleeves - at least the new ones do not hold very long.
some older versions/and the formula used in the r-spec kit were decent depending on which motor you put it on.
My actual point was - stick to 90mm, If you make 94mm, you force everyone to add risers to avoid wheelbite, AND were already 2mm higher from the ground due to the wheels. Well 4mm higher / 2mm from the Axle. (+ riser)
(90 works nicely), Even the 97’s are nice but again force changes, and frankly for a TOPMOUNT huge wheels arent common.
90’s will sell like hotcakes, 97’s would too, 94 is just an odd size… (my 90mm sleeves with 1000km + are 89-88.5 mm nowadays.) so making those 94’s 90’s… its going to take time riding that off.
Thats a good point 94mm is just so theres a leeway when riding in bumpy and sketchy roads thats not smooth and well paved. Ill make 90s then it should be easier.
Guys I finally got the Mold Drawn out for a 90mm. If your wondering why there is a hole on all the mold. Its that this is a 4 part Mold the Size to fit a 1/2 threaded rod in them to secure while the pour happens. Plus making the removal way easier with mold release. The Whee is a 2 part design where the inner Core lip to be bolted onto your motor, the lip will be casted in resin with the option to customize and glued in place onto the wheel. Im thinking of casting in the popular colors later on.
Are you going to sell sets of just the outwheel sleeves? I’m interested in the 90mms
I was planning to include the front wheels and the rear outwheel sleeves as a full replacement set. Not sure if that’s a good idea, i might have to make another mold for the fronts too.
I need some feedbacks everyone. Should I just stay with the rear outwheel for now, or should I make the fronts to. I know that the rear takes the most beating on the road, and the fronts tend to last awhile longer then theoutwheels.
I would be interested only in rear outwheels in the future.
Ok will do, oh here is a google form i just whipped up just now.
What would be the estimated price for a set of rear outwheels?
Just do outwheels. We can use standard wheels for the front. No point making them custom.
Are you going to test the wheels before shipping
50USD
yep I’m know a good spot in my area to test the wheel and there’s cracks and bumps and alot of rocks.
I don’t know if you have reddit but on the electric skateboard form there seems to be quite a lot of people looking for the out wheels or sleeves. Maybe you want to make a post on there.
