If you can get 470 to fit, I’ll send you some to try.
Are they 15mm or 20mm?
Ill take a look and see if i can fit 470 on the 4wd today when im playing with bushings. (TYVM)
Would be awesome if you can. 15mm
470mm on 18/78 is a tad loose on the (not pro) Radium mounts, but if I go to 20/78 I can fit with play…
Ive had those pulleys sitting there a while waiting for their time to be loved so I guess in the name of science and all…
More tuning with @RipTideSports Krank bushings. Finally happy with the setup.
Krank feel more energetic and linear than APS to me, and offer more adjustment within the same duros as you can crank them down for less turn.
Have been tuning medium option. Soft will be easy to work out, but already running the hardest Krank barrels rear so the hard bushing option will require chubbies to further restrict the back truck. I wish bushings went over 100A…
WFB gang
I used to run WFB but after time was finding that they just turn to mush and have no centre…
mo center isss the goal for wfb, and i love it cause it gives me all the control
I may have mentioned this before but as hardness goes up, rebound goes down so if you are looking for a harder bushing just go to a larger shape. We make 62d bushing but oh shit are they hard! Great for certain skate disciplines such as freestyle. This is our team rider Isamu Yamamoto wining the 2023 World Freestyle championships in Canada on 62d bushings
WFB is very subtle and has a hydraulic vibe to it. It is essentially unadjustable so you need to get the duro right to begin with. You control it, it does not control you.
I’d love to try some of that 62D stuff!
Low rebound is often good for eskate. As long as the bushing holds its shape and doesn’t try any funny hydraulic stuff.
We’ve been using tall chubbies as the next step above the hardest barrels and it does work but barrels do feel nicer with the amount of space they have around them to lean. Sort of like the difference between cupped and flat washers.
Will do more experimenting. Haven’t tried the really soft chubbies yet. Maybe they will allow enough lean and provide higher rebound than hard barrels…
Can a softer chubby turn more than a fat cone and be as stable?
A softer Chubby can turn more than a FatCone and will be more stable.
Is there a scenario where a fatcone is more desirable?
I think on Apex PKP it helps with bump absorption
When your chubby can’t get any softer
From my personal subjective experience, fatcones make the truck feel more centered compared to chubbies, which I think is because the contact edge between the bushing and hanger is closer to the center.
If you have wheelbite too
How much softer should a chubby be than a fatty?
Yes
