R.E.D. Initiative 2021 - Ride.Every.Day

I’ll post my beginner stats here one more time. Pretty sure I had Vanilla Ice in the Walkman last time I mounted a skateboard until this week. I forgot to start recording for the first 30-45 minutes. Upped the daughters speed to 18mph, so cruised with her a bunch. Board has more in it but gets awful wobbly under my weight and I don’t have the balls.

Good second day!

The consistent 30 mile rides love it. Looks like you have another 20 in the tank!

I feel like 35-40% charge might as well be empty when it comes to go-juice though.

Agreed. The other day I did 26 miles, but the last 6 were on under 50% with 1:4 ratio on 9" tires…had a hard time climbing the smallest of hills lol.

Good ride last night. Finally have a longer range battery so I can ride as much as I want. My ride app glitched and I only got the last mile. I have yet to find a ride app I like, so I need to get a logging solution in place.

Found a nice, new stretch of pave, though.

Shot is awful. Sorry, folks.

Finished myself a bigger battery and put it in the street board so that I’ve now got 2 boards with decent range

Then went on a really good ride with a few friends for the first time in a long while. GF took my carver and I rode the street board. Longest ride I’ve done on Thane in probably the last year. Now considering buying some sort of 6" wheels for it

Whoa these really exist in your country?

Or is it just for nostalgia?

Two ride logs today

Yes they exist, but most are now used like community book swaps. People leave old books in them and when you Finnish a book you can go and swap it for another

That’s awesome! Portland (and a number of other cities) have an ongoing tradition of building community “Lending Libraries”, which are usually at the edge of someones yard facing the sidewalk and are often very ornately decorated.
